How did Onofrio go from 37 to 64 points in one round? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=337455
The last tally was before we had worked out the problems with Monticello's scoring. The track sent the wrong results and Melissa had to work to get the correct results.* here is where Onofrio’s 64 points are currently. * Celbr.1. 7 Celbr.2. 10 VIR1. 10 VIR2. 10 NJMP1. 0 NJMP2. 0 Mont1. 7 Mont2. 0 HSted1. 10 HSted2. 10 Dayt1 Dayt2 Onofrio Triarsi
Point of note. Onofrio's first race at Homestead is under investigation, there was slight contact with Joe Rubbo's car. If determined to be at fault, he would lose 10 points, which would mean he would have to win both races at Daytona to win the championship. From what I understand, Rob has a conflict and may miss Daytona, which means if Onofrio wins, Rob will miss taking the FCRA 355 Championship, giving up all the glory and a $10,000 BRM custom made watch. Maybe we can all convince Rob to come?!!
If Onofrio wins he certainly deserves it, he has beat me 3-2 on head to head races. I take from the rules "To earn points a driver must finish the race without incident or penalty" doesn't mean you actually take the checkered? I think drivers should get points if they take the green, which it looks like how you have scored it. hey, if you don't make me feel guilty I won't tease you about changing the date & location a few months before.
Rob: Yes, wording is unclear but you get points for taking the green and performing without incident or penalty. Yes, I do feel responsibility for changing the date. I know you and others calendared the races at the beginning of the year. I made the mistake of trying to harmonize with different traditional clubs and lost calendar dates this year because of unfortunate politics. I've learned a few lessons, and the smashing success has given us a very good reputation (due to everyone's participation and driving manners), so we will have NO calendar issues next year. The first year had very minor growing pains. 2012 is shaping up to be very strong with fantastic sponsor support, even more entries, and amazing venues. That said, a lot of people wanted to see our Fchat founder take the championship! Can't you just mount antlers to the 355 and pretend?
Rob does not have to win in Daytona to clinch the championship, Onofrio simply has to lose. In what I am sure is an unrelated topic, Rob has been sending me video of Schumacher qualifying at Monaco circa 2006 along with some driving 'tips'. Strange line he wants me to run, but what do I know, I'm just a rookie.
Hey, what about a spoiler from the 3rd place points holder!?! I am really starting to get the hang of this car!
You've done great John. Great to see your father out there as well. Always like to see you and Eric and your fathers out there racing. I think the 355 class will be fantastic next year. A lot of talented drivers. With Rob, Onofrio, we will also have Cohen, and McKenzie and Valobra a few times with their 355s. There is no doubt we will have the most growth in the 355.
Thats for sure always a blast being with you guys, john put an awesome series together for all of us drivers, next year will be even better
