Please share your pictures of Rosso Corsa 458's with tinted windows. I'm debating between some UV/IR blocking clear films vs. a tinted film. If you happen to know what manufacturer and type of film as well as its % VLT, that would be great. From prior experience with films, there is a wide variation in the shades of the tinted films which are also compounded by the interaction with the particular tint the manufacturer has in the stock glass. The shades vary anywhere from grey, to blue, to purple, to brown, to black, to silver....

Anyways, just wanted to see what these cars look like with different shades of tint/products.

    Thanks.

What color tint would you characterize it as? Pretty difficult to tell from here, but I'd say grey or brown.

I've debated about the little window in the rear. Any thoughts on whether you'd do that one again? Does that window get hot at all from the engine?

Definitely would not do the rear window. No point. On the coupe, why hide the view of the amazing engine. On the spider, why bother tinting such a small retractable piece of glass.

Side windows change the appearance of the car, and set off the Roso Corsa quite nicely.

I purchased my 2012 458 Italia with tinted windows already installed. I think the shade is 35%, but it could be 50%, not sure. I usually do not like tinted windows on Ferraris but this looks really clean and not too dark. The tint is done very well with zero bubbles so it will stay on the car. My M5 is 35% but with a all black interior the tint looks darker. With tan interior on the Ferrari the tint appears a bit lighter. OOPs, the bottom photo was my F430, no tint :)

Your tint looks great. Do you happen to know the brand/name of the film? What color is your interior. It seems like 35% is plenty dark. I'm leaning towards just doing the side windows of the spider.

Looking very sharp. I think black interiors always make the tint look darker but I wonder if that is somewhat offset by w white exterior?

I agree, the all black interior and white exterior certainly makes the tint look darker. If I were you I would go with 35%, not too light, not too dark, and it provides better protection from UV rays etc..

Agree no need to tint the Italia engine window.

Unlike Wash DC it is sunny here, very sunny. Get sunshine over 300 days a year. Of course you can put the window down to let light in and hear the exhaust engine music better. There is absolutely no wind or wind noise. The window does not get hot.

At night cuts down on glaare from following traffic.

One of the best features of the Spider is the rear window.

BTW, I love how you get these nice country roads 20 miles from DC. Not quite as nice here on the Maryland side, alas.

Oh yes, one of my favorite drives is up route 15 from Leesburg and over to West Virginia, endless country roads with twist and turns, gorgeous in the fall when the leaves start to turn colors!

My interior is black, so it makes the window tint appear a bit darker than if you had a tan interior.

Here's a shot of the interior to give you a sense.

Not sure of the name/brand of the tint. It is the latest and greatest, so I imagine most of the highline guys will all be using the same film. Sorry I don't have the details. I'll see if I can find out for you.

Beautiful contrasting stitching. I've never seen a steering wheel done that way! Never any trouble with the local authorities?

Nope. Thought about taking a cheap shot but alas, that would be in poor taste.

    Good luck so far.

Thanks for the compliment on the wheel. I spec'd this car, and love how all of the accents worked out.

Is it a 5% limo tint?
