Please Help Me Find Chassis 21277 308 GTB

    After 29 years I finally have the chassis number to the Ferrari that changed to course of my life. It was the first one I saw - I didn't even know what kind of car it was. 1977 308 GTB steel.

    That was all I knew since I was 13. I just received an email only moments ago from the man who was driving it that day back in the spring of 81. It's a long story but we were reacquainted again just a few short years ago and he began the search for the chassis number which he knew was somewhere in some file in some box in some closet...maybe

    Well, he found it. It is 21277 Apr 1977 build date. Originall Fly Yellow/Black and when these photos were made by me in 1981 it was owned by a pediatrician here in Birmingham, Al named Nabors. It's the first set of pics in this thread :

    He bought it used from FAF in Atlanta in the late 70's. He has long sinced passed away and I think the car went somewhere north east of here after that.

    Please help me find my lost parent :) It is a car that I want to locate and purchase

    (I am running a duplicate thread up in the General section too just for the exposure)

    Here´s what I have on s/n 21277, unfortunately nothing more recent (yet):

    12/1986 For sale at F.A.F. Motorcars, Tucker, GA/USA. 2 Owner southern car / new paint / 28,500 mls / $27,900 / fly yellow/black

    10/1986 For sale by Leon Reese, Birmingham, AL/USA. 28,000 mls / $27,500 / yellow/black

    04/1986 For sale by Leon Reese, Birmingham, AL/USA. New paint / 27,000 mls / $29,500 / yellow/black

    All three ads were published in the Ferrari Market Letter, hope it helps a little.

    Dr Tommy, call a Title bonding agency local to you. See if they can go to DMV and pull a record search. Most times they charge $50.00 to $150.00 for this service, but they give you a Title.

    You dont need a Title in this case, just more names and addresses to help get a direction to go in.

    By them doing this research, they should have access to the Customs Export papers that had to be filed with the USA and Canadian Customs / Border people, thereby narrowing down where the car went from there. It may also give you names of people or a Dealer in Canada that can be directly contacted.

    This is a really cool thread. wish you the best with this. My *20433* is with a great new caretaker in Canada. I miss that red GTB sometimes. :)

    Thanks for looking into it for me.

    Mr Reese is my friend who was driving the car that afternoon. The pics I took back then are in his driveway. He is the guy that emailed me yesterday too.

    20433 IS DOING VERY WELL. Just got back from a fall drive of some 4 hours. She keeps getting better with every improvement. Valves all adjusted, new belts, all new rubber lines throughout, refinished door panels, relays for the windows, rebuilt center console with Verrell's bezels and labels etc. Rear suspension rebuild on the books for the winter.

    I just wish it were spring...

    So what is the story? Is it yours? If not I bet the owner would love to hear about this and see baby pics of his car from 30 years ago

    I am just sitting here thinking about that day 30 years ago.

    I sat in that very car when I was 13 and that was it for me, I was forever hooked. I mean that was THE car. THAT one !

    I just cannot believe this

    you can believe it, the car has been in Toronto for some time. The big horse was on the back end of the car.
    I will call him tomorrow and let him know the his car has some history.
