I haven't ran Sebring yet but we may later this year. Next up is VIR, then Sonoma.

Interesting look at the suspension and underbody aerodynamics of the GT BS.

Last week, I took delivery of my 765LT and drove it from the dealer to the PPF shop a total of 1.9 miles. I guess I wasn’t prepared for how incredibly raw the car is. I knew that, at least for me, it would “fix” all the shortcomings of the 720S. I just didn’t expect it to go as far as it did in that effort. It makes my Viper ACR feel almost like a S-Class Benz. It’s rough, loud, and lightweight, and I absolutely love it. Can’t wait to get a 1000 miles of seat time.

This is precisely why I purchased the 765. Fast, raw, unfiltered, immersive, adrenaline inducing, heart pounding and it looks the part.

I hate to say it, and I realize it sounds a bit fanboy, but the LT kinda ruins other cars for you. Driving the Mac sets that high of a bar. It’s so brutally fast that it’s difficult to explain. The phrases “pulls like a freight train” and “brutally fast” are trite. They’re that good. Brakes. Aero. Handling. You just walk away from it kinda staggered that a car can be that good. 1.9 miles and it’s obviously already left quite an impression on you. Can’t wait to hear more, particularly after a days drive or track event.

It’s the ultimate incarnation of a pure ICE super car. A package that leaves you wondering what new car could ever exist that would be worth trading it in for.

I wonder if the STO will compare to the regular Huracan the same way the 765LT does to the regular 720S. Obviously, the STO will not have the same power advantage than the 765LT enjoys over the 720s, but maybe the overall rawness distinction might be similar. I sure hope so.

Good question. My gut says the changes will be more incremental than transformative since the heart of the car (it’s engine) is carry over.

Beautiful spec. And congrats. The car is astonishing. You and I felt the same way about the 720S (blisteringly fast for sure, but somewhat devoid of any real emotion), the 765LT really takes that platform and adds in all the missing elements.

My hope was that the 765 would be the synthesis of stellar objective capabilities combined with the visceral thrill and evoke the emotional arousal intrinsic to a super car. I traded in the F8, a car with which I was enamoured, to pursue my intuitive sense that 765 would finally completely fulfill my concept of the ideal car. And I was right. The 765 is mind blowing.

I had this very discussion with my wife today. Since my modus operandi over the last decades has been a revolving door of car swapping, I advanced the proposition that this time it is different for the reasons you enunciate in your above assertions. She remains sceptical but I truly believe the 765 represents the end of an era.

I believe you’re an outlier from a Tesla owner standpoint. Clearly you’re a gear head, but in my experience talking to owners and knowing neighbors who have Tesla’s these guys are definitely NOT car guys. I’ve been in several of the Tesla cars and I just can’t stand them. Different strokes I guess but I will never own one of their cars.

its interesting...at $150k and top 3 quickest cars ever produced, you kinda have to be a car guy LOL. My business associates are all the same...and have Divo, Senna X, etc.

Tesla is "just an app on wheels" and a good one at that.

Trying the Audi e-tron tomorrow as at least it has some "bling" !
