I’m thinking about upgrading my Pista upgrade search to the Piloti. Key question is what makes the Piloti worth $900k to $1 million compared to the regular Pista. Also it appears most Piloti owners don’t drive their cars much at all.

I see most Pista Piloti MSRPs as slightly over 500k but other than it being a more “limited edition” Pista is the price difference worth it?

    Thoughts ?

I’ve always thought it to be the only truly collectible Pista based on the difficult requirements to acquire the allocation: Ferrari racer or XX owner (hence the Pilota name). Further, one could not get the coupe, spider and Pilota. Only two of the above, regardless of their pedigree.

In terms of the car alone for a driving experience, it is no different than the base model Pistas. It’s entirely about rarity and the difficulty to get allocated the vehicle.

I’ve never heard or seen a number but I cannot imagine there are more than 200 and I suspect there are less than 150.

Didn’t know they were that rare !! As Pistas appreciate in value in the future assuming these can fetch over $2 mill although who truly knows. Only downside is really limited driving miles if you plan on selling.

The market appears to be cooling off somewhat but if these Pilotis are that limited they would appear to be somewhat immune.

It is worth the price difference if you want it that much more! 99.99999% of people have no idea a Speciale isn't a California.

Is is going to be worth it as an investment? Very unlikely. For posterity, BRK trades at $590k today. I'm willing to bet that despite the discount to Piloti's today, it will eventually trade for more.

It's all cosmetic, so not sure why they are so much more.

they look great imo and are very collectable - the alonso edition 599 has traded on a premium despite being cosmetic for a long time now

To my knowledge, there are only 40 Pista Piloti. Who knows what the value will ultimately be but if you want to buy one to drive and enjoy, then it's a matter of what you can afford to drive without being concerned about putting miles on it. Alternatively, a Speciale is in the $550 - $650K range but that is a much different vehicle.
