Great racing at Barber today, looking forward to round two tomorrow. Hoping the McLarens don't have a scary start again.

Holy Crap what kind of start was that?

you have PWC and NASCAR at Road America and the Blue Angels in Milwaukee this weekend; which do you choose?

 

I've already made my choice and I'll be downtown for the Blue Angels although I am heading up to Road America Sunday for the optima battery street car shootout. NASCAR doesn't really turn my crank so I don't feel I'm missing much. But I will miss those in the PWC this time around. I need to visit Gaple's shop soon....

 

missed the race. what happened at the start?

 

It looks like Johnny O Connell jumped the gun which caused a lot of mayhem behind him like a Lambo spinning into the wall among other things.

 

basically. it was a shambles.

btw that Bentley looks pretty cool, but can't help but think it would look better in BRG.

 

Spinning into a safety car is a first for me

I think it was Detroit its hard to tell with the weird airing schedule. it was a black Lambo and it spun into the escalade medical truck under a safety car with the water

 

It was Hahn in the Lambo at Detroit who hit the safety vehicle. There was water that came from the damaged tire barrier on the outside of the turn and he lost control exiting the corner. There was a safety vehicle on the inside exit of the corner. He was the winner of the second race in GT-A at Road America and crashed out on the start of the first race.

Interesting that nobody over the weekend went faster than we did testing there a few weeks prior (on old tires too):

The last lap, even with the mistake at the end was still in the 2:07's. Tires were the qualifying set from Barber and then we ran over a race distance on them at Road America before those laps were done. Maybe the Pirelli tires really didn't like the Goodyear rubber being put down by the Nationwide cars...
