I spoke with Geoffrey Carter this morning and they're well aware of the streaming and T&S issues from St. Pete. It's high on the priority list to get fixed for Long Beach.

I assume it's a simple bandwidth problem...their broadcasts are very good, just seemed the site couldn't handle the traffic.

If any F-chatters are heading to Long Beach this weekend, feel free to swing by my truck (DragonSpeed) if you want a tour of the car-- kids are welcome too, I'll make sure to disable the fire bottle! The GT3 machines are pretty sweet up close! I'll be there from Thursday mid-day to Sunday evening after our race. Just ask one of the crew to grab me, I'll probably be inside the trailer studying data or video.

Good race at Long Beach. Good win for Nic Jonsson in the Kia, especially at a Kia sponsored event. Those guys have worked hard and had a string of bad luck.

Anyone know why the Lamborghini team that won at St. Pete was not at Long Beach?

 

I saw on the Miller Motorsports Park Facebook page that PWC is going to make up the St. Petersburg race there on September 12-14. I believe this means there will be two races that weekend?

 

There wasn't enough room. The entry slots filled up in the off-season with full-season entries.

Why is WC aired 2 weeks after the race?

 

You can watch the race live online or stream it after the fact. Buying live coverage on TV is very expensive.

Is that paddock limited or track limited? Why did they not have qualifying for the race spots? Is that not how this series works?

 

I'm not sure if it was paddock or track limited. Both seemed super cramped with 40 entries.

No there isn't qualifying for race entry spots. Firstly, there isn't enough track time available since we share it with other series'. And secondly, the costs are to high to run the car. You won't have many entrants if there's a chance you spend all that $$$ to get an entire team to a race across the country and then can't actually be in the race.

Since the entry list was going to be limited, they did the only sane thing you could really do... reserve spots for full-season entries on a first come first serve basis.
