There is an awesome little kibutz in the Yardenite area that sells great dates and date/blueberry/nut candies!...In fact, just had a couple pieces tonight! I miss Israel so much! The company I used to work for had a site in Kiryat Shmona and we'd stop in and around the Galilee / Tiberias on the way back to Tel-Aviv. What an awesome place!

Hi Steve, Hatima Tova, read the thread attached I think you will get lots of info. it's not easy to bring a Ferrari to Israel, first the car must be more than 30 years old and second the tax is very high (about 128% from the value of the car + shipment). If you need more info please let me know. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=161932
Steve 4 get it. You cannot do business in Israel with collector cars. You will not fool the Israeli gov't authorities in Customs and the MOT. If the car is worth 30K, then the Israeli buyer will pay approx the price of the car + approx 128% in taxes. Parts are taxed at 50%. The taxes at the 128% rate, will also be assessed on the freight charges at the time of importation. AFAIK, you cannot import more than one 30 year vehicle per year in Israel under your name (for residents). You will need to find a local Israeli citizen, to import and register the car in their name. When you sell the car, the new buyer will have to pay the tax rate again, based on the gov't assessed value !!!! I also believe, you will have to wait approx 4 years, before you can sell the car in Israel to another Israeli buyer. - I am not sure about that. As you can imagine, the people in the Israeli gov't who collect taxes, are not as stupid as your typical American DMV state employees. As far as I know, nobody is in the collector car business in Israel. The Israeli MOT does not want to allow commerce of 30 year old collector cars. Reuven. Take the road from Arad to Yom Ha Melaach (The Dead Sea) !!!!! שנה טובה
