I just saw that a few weeks ago myself - seems it was always cloudy before. It's STUNNING from the air... pictures out the window just don't do justice. I took a bunch, but it just doesn't capture the grandeur of it, does it. NOT to say it's not a great photo - it is. But to just SEE it is amazing, isn't it? Jedi
Some really awesome pics in this thread. I'll add my humble ones from a recent helicopter tour to Mendenhall Glacier. The last pic is of a dog sledding camp on the glacier. I took one the other way around yesterday. Passing directly over my house. Not sure what kind of plane, but a good duess is the Air France A380 coming from Tokyo going to Paris. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks I wish I had more zoom I must admit I prefer the pics taken out of the window of a plane and down
Here is a KLM with a serious history It is actually the VERY first time I tried to shoot planes from the ground. This one was enroute from London to Hong Kong. After I took the pic I went in and searched the plane online. I knew it was a KLM 747, so I figured it would be coming from either Amsterdam or London. Sure enough, I found it had departed London around an hour and a half earlier or so, so I tracked the flight which gave me the flightnumber. Here is the story on this exact plane. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KLM_Flight_867 Image Unavailable, Please Login

Great photo! Brian, what an amazing story. Those pilots and people on that plane had someone shining down on them.

Here's a few shots coming in to Hawaii yesterday.... flight path was right over Oahu - I've never had this path before in dozens of trips here. First shot of Koko Head, with Waimanalo, second is Hanauma Bay Park, and third of Diamond Head, all in quick succession en route to HNL.
