Strange ruling. Didn't Hamilton do the same as Vettel at Spa last year and was deemed at fault? It was the same move and it looked like Vettel moved into NK's line after assuming he'd cleared him. Kobi wasn't penalized then, and NK shouldn't be penalized now. The guy in front is supposed to certain he's cleared the car he passes.
Wow didn't know that. I was severly hungover when I watched the race and only saw the incident once and thought it was Vettels fault (one of my favs btw ).
I was wondering how the Petronas Executives felt while watching the GP: They moved their sponsorship from Sauber to Mercedes. The differences in performance between the two teams in the race couldn't have been bigger. Did anybody jump off the Petronas tower?
They must have been so upset about THAT ONE RACE. You're really reaching now... BTW I can't believe how the beer gods smile on you.
Looked that way to me as well when I first saw it. But after reading that NK said he moved right I figured there was probably more to it. Still shouldn't have called him an idiot though. At least not in public...
You can only hope it was a one-off performance. Chances are it wasn't: http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/so-stehts-um-die-formel-1-teams-id1816141.html Blick's Benoit puts Sauber currently on the 3rd position and Mercedes on the 7th. Also I'm not the only one who was thinking about the Petronas-Sauber-Mercedes relationship in the last race: http://www.blick.ch/sport/formel1/die-suesse-rache-an-petronas-id1825928.html sensationeller Platz 2 von Sergio Pérez. Translation: sensational 2nd place by Perez. Petronas has been waiting for such a result with Mercedes for 40 races. So far there have only been 3 third places by Nico in 2010. The narrowly missed Sauber-victory was a shock for Petronas and Mercedes - they're behind in points 1:30. Nobody talks about victories anymore.
There is so much more pace in the Mercedes. They're just off to a bad start. Gearbox in Aus, Grosjean in Malaysia. If Sauber is still well ahead in points by Monaco then I'd be worried. Regarding sponsorship, I'm sure Petronas gets alot more mileage from an association with a huge name like Mercedes than with Sauber, regardless of the results from 10% of the season.
Whoa! Who is reaching now?! Forget those two incidents, just look at the pace of the Mercedes: Both cars went backwards during both races. Where did you get the "so much more pace" idea? From testing results before the season or from the 3rd place in qualifying? Neither of which really mean a whole lot. Lets see where they stand after Monaco. I agree with you there.
