Get some real sunglasses, these are the best and the best for driving as well. http://www.serengetieyewear.com/
I've given up on sunnies - I either lose them or bust them too frequently to pay more than $30 bucks or so. The first couple pics are from a few years ago with a couple $50 buck pairs that I loved - you can't get sunnies this skinny anymore for some reason, some silly regulation against looking cool. (both lost whilst drunk) The 3rd pic are my Ray-Bans which I paid $280 for - then stepped on them. 4th pic are some sunnies that the gf bought for me at BP... ahem. 5th pic are uber cool! The last few pics are of the last sunnies I had - and left them in a mate's missus's handbag when drunk a few months ago. :\ Don't have any pics of my latest sunnies. Got fairly close to buying a green SV Miura for i think was $40k? when i was in my early twenties 200 years ago. Robert Shannon of Shannon's [i think he is brown_bread now?] was doing his best to close the sale and yeah i fell for it.NOBODY else would touch it,[Scared of exotica?] it didnt worry me in the slightest.I just wanted to be like the guy in the Italian Job...LOL My dad was ok and would lend me the $40k, but NOT for a Lamborghini.....grrrrrr..sorrow Whats that OHOS worth now?Where is it now? Thanks for the flashback moment! Ciao M
I stood on my Serengeti's yesterday. They were fabulous sunnies. In the process of tracking down a new pair, I had my eyes tested, to find I have a cataract on my left and I now need glasses for long distance <sob> so that means solid frame sunnies, not lightweight Serengeti's. <sob again> When I have the op to fix the cataract (takes 10 minutes apparently) it will bugger up my perfect short vision <curses> I've had Persols. They're are a waste of time in our intense sunlight, they let too much light in at the sides. UV is what causes cataracts.
Exotic isn't the issue. Nobody would touch Miura's in the past because they are a PITA car to own. They were 308GTB money in the 80's. Valuable now due to being rare and beautiful, not because they're useable, fast or particularly pleasant. I was chatting to a bloke at the Gooding auction at Monterey (they had a lovely black SV) who owned both a 275 and an SV. He said, "I can get the Ferrari out after 6 months standing around and it works first time every time. I've never been able to do that with my Miura."
