Any word on the Ferrari store closing ? I'm sure it will sadly but I always enjoyed walking in a little boozed up after some winnings and just buying merchandise for myself and my kids.

It's Towbin, I was just there (Wynn) for three days and I met the Gen. manager from Towbin he's very excited about getting the dealership.

Also looks like he will be taking everybody with him to his place.

    That's the smart move.

    Cheers

How disappointing. I was holding onto some hope that it wasn't them. Oh well. :-(

    +1 for that.

    +1 for Rich.

Sad to the dealership leaving. One less reason to visit Vegas. Would go for an "Fchat in Vegas event" though. Maybe get the new dealership to host as a sign of goodwill?

Great idea. Question is, will Towbin be willing? It sure would help their business relationship with us.

It's a pretty complicated procedure he's going through right now just getting the dealership set up.

He seems like a very nice guy, and as I said he's very excited about getting the Ferrari dealership.

Once everything is settled I would have no problem suggesting something like this to him.

    Cheers,

    Bill

When people say "Towbin", are you referring to the large fella who calls him let "Chop"?

Technically just to be accurate, Towbin is family controlled buisiness owned by Carolyn Towbin. Towbin Motor Cars which is the soon to be purchaser of the Ferrari dealership is co-owned by her daughter...

That's a shame its done there. I enjoyed stopping by the store, just to cruise around. I would often see families that were dreaming outside and would bring them in as my guests to save them the $10 each.

I never knew that there was a $10 charge. I assume when you drive your car in through the "bat cave" that $10 nonsense is avoided.

Had to prove ownership to get in free. An ignition key/insurance card did the trick for those of us who were just looking and not getting serviced. Then you got an owner lanyard instead of the paid visitor lanyard. They still tried to hit you up for a picture downstairs, though. If they weren't making a profit, I don't think that they would have gone through the hassle of charging admission.

I was down in the shop today to pick up my 355. Hopefully the entire "Bat Cave" crew will be making the move to Towbin.

IMHO the service department is the absolute BEST dealership service experience I have ever personally had.

I believe next Friday the doors will close for the last time.

I don't think you are kidding. I've talked to a few people who are in the know and was told Wynn did indeed lose the dealership for flipping the LaFerrari. It was too well known that he flipped it and if they didn't do something then nobody would take the right of first refusal agreements seriously. Anyone could point to Wynn and say he did it and got away with it so why can't I? As such they revoked his dealership. Hope it was worth the $1.5M profit he made (not that he needs the money but the novelty and prestige of having Ferrari in your casino is priceless IMHO).

I go to the Wynn a couple times each year and liked visiting the dealership and batcave.

I know that's the belief, but honestly Steve Wynn got this dealership dealing directly with Gianni Agnelli himself, while he's dead and gone, you don't think that relationship meant anything with the factory? Maybe not with Marchionne in charge these days, but Agnelli's sons are still the largest stock holders at Fiat. In addition, this dealership was arguably the most interesting setup in the North America and Ferrari North America are just willing to give that unique set up away? If it is true that the sale of the LaFerrari was the straw that broke the camel's back I still don't think Steve cares based on this theory, see this link.

Thanks for the link. An interesting read.

I believe my three separate sources (brokers and some within Ferrari) about the LaFerrari flip being the trigger for the dealership being pulled. Certainly could have been other factors that Ferrari was not happy with and the LaF sale sealed the deal for them. Either way I agree Steve Wynn could probably care less. He'll definitely figure out how to make good use of the space. His loss was somebody else's gain there in Vegas and they should buy Steve another LaFerrari as a gift for the opportunity he created for them. :)
