I know people have posted about this in the past, and I did my search, found some info, but still not clear on this.

I believe I have a stuck door lock actuator, the passenger door will not open at all. Someone said that they could go in between the exterior weatherstripping and the glass and "push down on the lower lever" to open the door. When someone else asked for this to be elaborated on, it was left unreplied to.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I started to remove the door panel, but I have carbon fiber lower door panels, and it seems like whoever installed them may have cross threaded the bolts, or used different ones, because I am having a hard time getting them out. I have already stripped an allan wrench.. they should NOT be that difficult to remove!

The door should open from the inside even in the event of lost power for emergencies? Maybe the cables just need to be adjusted. Taking the door cards out does seem like the right course of action. If you do some searching you can find a thread on door handle adjustment, that would be a good start.

Charles, I recently had a similar problem with my 360's passenger door. And as luck would have it, I also have carbon fiber lower door trim with one cross threaded screw. I was able to opent he door from the inside, but not the outside. Turned out that my door lock actuator was going bad - a condition that will be come more noticeable once the actual starts intermittently triggering and cycling the door lock even when the car is off. Had both door lock actuators replaced at my dealer.

    Charles,
I had a similar problem. However, it occurred with both doors. I was finally able to open the passenger side door by pulling open the door handle while using the key to turn the lock. I was able to open the passenger side door from the inside. The driver side door was another story. Would not open under any circumstances for approximately three months and many service labor hours. Door finally opened by chance. Lock assembly was remanufactured and control was reprogrammed. Both doors have continued to work fine after the reprogramming.

Thanks. I am having no luck, I am able to tug on the cable from the handle (took armrest pad loose), and also the arm that connects to the lock. Fun stuff!!!

Try to tug on the rod that connects to the lock. Then hit the fob lock/unlock and confirm that it does indeed lock/unlock

Most likely the cable to from the outer door release handle is seized. This puts the door latch in a position where is cannot be unlocked. Someone who is knowledgable with the problem can move the cable lever back to its rest position by working through the top of the window opening with the weatherstrip removed.
This is pretty much the only way to open the door short of using a hole saw.

I think you are right Motob. I got the door panel off enough to get my hand behind it, but cannot see anything. I wish I knew someone knowledgeable nearby.

My driver door was stuck shut and this is exactly how we got it open. Accessing the lock/cable from the top was the only way to free it. And it took a bit of time and effort to do it. Ultimately had to replace the entire lock mechanism.

Just go slow, be patient, and very careful.

    Good luck

Seems like someone been poking around in there already judging by the finger prints... Maybe a previous owner..?

Anyway; I've asked this before: Is the problem with the doors (locks), always related to the same parts?

If so maybe a long term solution could be found if we together helped each other out in developing superior parts?

well, its entirely possible those are my fingerprints, as i have the door panel off as much as i could to get my arm back in there, but couldn't see anything, which is why i bought the endoscope.

It seems like all the posts i have looked at have variations of the same problem.... cables, or actuators.

I really just need to be able to pop the door open so i can remove the door panel completely, and see what I am doing.

So, Does anyone know, is this the lever that will get that done?

    Hello!
Just adding some useful tips for anyone else searching for this problem.

I had this problem recently with my 430 Passenger door being stuck closed. Turned out to be the outter handle causing the problem but not quite as described here. As per the photo, the lever on the mechanism for the OUTER handle was stuck in the half way OPEN position. The cable then goes slack and this stops the inner handle from working or the outer one. The cables were not seized so working them achieved nothing. After 8 hours of swearing at it all I managed to fix it by inserting a 20" flat headed screwdriver down the door card between the glass and the outer door shell (window had to be fully open) and touching against this lever and tapping with a hammer. Once that shifted back to its original stowed position the inner handle worked fine and I was able to open the door. I then could take the door card off and remove the Mech and have a look. I oiled it, greased it, cleaned it, and still after every 5th pull the level would seize. Ended up fitting a new Mech.

But if you find yourself with a door stuck closed and the cables are slack - 20" screwy and a hammer (on your $200k supercar) is the way to go!

That is the lever the outer door release cable operates. If it gets stuck in the halfway position, then you cannot unlock and open the door from either the inside or outside. Usually the cable that operates the lever from the outside lever seizes. When the problem happens there will be excessive play at the outside door release handle.
But I guess in this case the entire mechanism malfunctioned. It is hard to see and move, but the only way is through the top of the door between the outer door skin and glass.
Good job for you figuring it out. It is not easy.

Took me a while I must admit, the outer handle was indeed slack and loose, but the cable seemed free when I took up the slack with a pry-bar. With a mini flashlight in my mouth and at EXACTLY the right angle I could see the mech and could just see that arm move with the naked eye when I used the pry-bar with my third arm to take up the slack.

So I hit it with a hammer.

It worked! Hopefully this will help someone in the future - namely me when I forget how I did it in 4 years and have to do the Driver's side!
