Does she work in Auto mode? If so, take her to the dealer or a trusted tech with proper tools for diagnosis.

When in doubt, always reset the car by disconnecting the battery. You'd be surprised how often that cure mysterious issues.

Could also be a sensor failure inside the gearbox. Any warning lights?

Another potential avenue to (hopefully easily) discard: ensure that you have a healthy battery. With all of the electronics, things can go a bit awry if voltage isn’t up to 100%.

    Good luck!

Any alerts or warnings on the TFT ?

As others have stated do a full battery disconnect- And ensure the battery is fully charged. These newer cars are hypersensitive to battery health.

If problem persists take to dealer or indie with proper diagnostic equipment- if there is a core issue these cars self-diagnose and throw codes that can identify root cause.

Good luck- I/we all know it's scary but more often than not it is not catastrophic.

There is a small plastic actuator that has broken behind the paddle that’s not working. Remove the metal plate under the wheel and if you have both pieces you can probably epoxy it back together. The part is not available separately, the dealer will sell you the whole assembly which includes the paddles and a new ignition switch and it will be very expensive. But you can fix it for next to nothing. Threads in the California forum with good info. You can get the car out of neutral by hitting the PS button with your foot on the brake and then and drive it in auto mode.

Hi Vic , yep I took the covers off the paddle switch and the left little plastic actuator was broken.:-(( . Wish I could find the broken parts but not around. I am going to try to make it work but doubtful. May have to spend several thousand dollars to fix a broken 30 cent part - very upsetting! Can’t just buy broken plastic piece separately! Just discovered this today and then read your note tonight . You are right - thanks , james

Wow , after much research I found that all the dealers and parts resources could only provide the whole paddle shift assembly for 3- 4 thousand dollars . Then to install, the steering wheel would have to be removed. :-(( . I kept searching and found an old thread which sent me to Exoticspecialtyparts.square.site and there is a video showing how to fix the paddle shift w new small parts they will provide for $350 .No removal of steering wheel, hooray! I am delighted to find this and wanted to share . Thanks all , james

See if you can get the geometry right pivot points etc, maybe from photos and see if someone can 3D print the part. It might just be doable. Possibly you could copy one on the other side if it is the samepart, get someone to cad draw it and someone to print out a few of them.

We have a guy locally that is working on a solution, he has created replacement pieces, that we are testing in 2 separate California T right now.

When it proves out, I foresee this being an excellent solution to what is/was an expensive repair!

I'm curious, is $350 for the pair or per replacement piece, or for the turn key repair?

    More to follow!
