Hello all. I am getting this consistently repeated code on my 2003 575M. The exhaust appears all original. Where to start? Computer says the position is "closed."

Thank you all so much in advance!

Likely a vacuum leak from one of the hoses. On 575Ms the exhaust bypass valves are fail closed, so a hose or the solenoid. Solenoid gets its signal from the Motronic ECUs. Note those valves are always closed until you reach the schedule that tells them to open.

Activation thresholds: From 1000 to 2720 rpm CLOSED. From 2720 rpm and loaded >64% OPEN.

Try resetting the ECU also. I once had my 360 or maybe it was the 458 get confused as to which was open vs. closed. Reset the ECU and it solved the issue. Worth a try.

Thank you all! I traced the vacuum hose back to the solenoid. Someone installed Tubi's (yea!) but left simply the lone vacuum hose plugged into the solenoid with the other barb wide open. The electonic sensor was unplugged.

So capped the open solenoid barb, plugged it back in, no more code.

New used car, and its the first no code, no engine light day for me. Celebration time!

    Thank you.
