    Hi All,

Are there alternative compounds for a set of OTO carbon brake pads?

Or do I just have to stay with the factory part?

Thinking of swapping in new pads this winter [emoji3587] while doing maintenance.

    Thanks in advance [emoji1431]

Do you have a part number that I can reference?

I only see the pads for a 599 and 430 application in the Pagid site.

I believe the 599 GTB and GTO use the same pad shape.

612 and 599/GTO CCMs use different size rotors, 380 mm vs 398 mm, and the calipers use different pads. The 612 HGTC, interim 612s with CCMs, Sessantas, and OTOs use the same front calipers and pads. Did not check the rears.

Forget what I said. I read GTO not OTO.

However, pads should be available. Let me look into it.

So did a little digging. The rear pads are easy, they are just the 599 CCM style pads.

Fronts are a bit more tricky. However, Ferrari uses a generic caliper, and 380x34 is a pretty common ďsc size for that period. I have a sneaky suspicion that it shares pad shape and size with the Nissan R35 GTR. If you can, remove a front pad and see if it matches the measurements from the drawing below. I suspect it does. Rotors and calipers are the same size as the CS and F430 CCMs. Not sure about the pads because the bolt pattern is different on the 612 (114.3 mm x 5 vs 108 mm x 5)).

I saw the 8091 pad for a 599, nothing else. Maybe I need to measure the pad.

If the 430 scud is the same as the 612 OTO then I’ll have a look there as well.

    Terry,

Are you saying that the pads should be similar to the 599 or closer to the 430 ccm ones?

    Or that I should measure it… [emoji23]

Pads should be more similar to the CS/F430, but not sure if they are identical. All three fronts are 380 mm rotors.

    I’ll have a look.

The CS/430 ccm from Pagid list the 8901 pad as the one for those applications.

Makes me wonder if Maserati also had a pad that works…

8901 is incorrect. Look again. 360CS w. CCM is 8083.

I highly doubt that the pad depth changed because of the PCD. The Scud has the 599/458 and on disc size, but retains the swept depth.

Here's my bet. The 360CS. F430 and,Enzo all use,the same pad shape, which has a swept area depth of 76 mm. However, while the 599 etc. has a pad depth of 85 mm, they still use the same caliper. Same goes for the GTR. They all use,the same Brembo M6 caliper and basic pad shape. Hole spacing and overall depth is the same between them.

So I have little doubt that a front pad can be found between either pad shape 8083 or 4945. Looking at it again, I'm 99.99% certain that pad shape 8083 is correct. It makes the most sense that Ferrari would use the same basic architecture across their line of cars at the time. This is what's so odd about Ferrari. They stick different part numbers on things, and yet they are the same. Just look at pads for an F12, 458, 599CCM, Lusso or F430 Scud. Different part numbers, and yet they are all the, same generic Textar T4300 pad...
I'm guessing this is what's going on with the 612.

Best thing would obviously be to remove a pad and measure the pad depth not to be confused with overall depth. But to be brutally honest, personally I would just get the 8083 RSC1 front pads and 4906 RSC1 rear pads and lay the new and old front pad on top of each other. If the pad is different, return them. However, I highly doubt they are.

The M6 caliper is by far the most common, and so did the 8083 pad also used to be. It is also the pad Porsche used on 997 and back CCM equipped cars.
