Over at my favorite River Oaks honky tonk, Jesse Dayton will be there. I would imagine a few tales will be told, about my dear departed friend Larry Miggins, killed in a single vehicle crash, just north of Oak Island, two weeks ago. Thread in Owners Section about Larry, and the Houston Press and others have made nice obits, thanks, to them. Come out and have a Shiner with me, or maybe a shot of Jameson, in memory of a fine Irish Texas, survived by his wife, and two adult children. The Rice University Engineering staff will be out on the curve tomorrow morning, putting up a marker.
Slipped out from babysitting our 2 yr old grandson in Houston to go to Blancos and hear some live music. Good to meet BigTex and Lady Valeria! Jesse Dayton and Band were really good! Will go back to this historic honky-tonk when in Houston. 3 Shiner limit sent me home to find grandbaby and Glammie still asleep. Sorry for your loss of a good buddy!
RIP to Larry Sorry to hear you lose another friend, Alan, but I have yet to meet Valeria, and I've been to Houston a lot the last few years!!! Gonna be in town this Monday, but it's a hit-and-run for me, gotta be back to put my own babies to bed...
Sorry to hear of your loss Alan, the great ones are always taken away far too soon. Blanco's is a great place, I've met Alan there before for beer & live music One of the many things I miss about living in Houston.
Good to meet you Philip! Thanks for coming out! The marker setting the next morning went well, weather considered...it was good to 'see it all" and at least he made some (very short) skid marks under braking.. Thanks to everyone for the condolences, he was a one of a kind personality...
