I'd give $5K for it, but his inflated sense of value tells me he may not need your money. But you can't know if you don't ask. I've just had a thing for black with white wheels. Jeep, Mini Cooper, more bikes, and on and on. I had a black 911 I was going to paint the wheels white.

alan, if yu are seriously contemplating a buy...you should but my 916. it is immaculate and has many mods and a single or biposto seating option. zero miles on new race-compound dot rubber too. not much of a price difference either.

It just sounds like a lot.......

 

24k is not super-high miles if the bikes has been cared for properly. If you buy and have to get it serviced (oil change, valve adjustment, new belts, carb sync), figure $600. Maybe a little more or less. Should be good to go unless the clutch/brake/chain/tires also need replacing. if all those need attention too you could have $5k in that $3300 bike pretty fast. Just as important as the mechanicals is the cosmetics. It is just like a car, you can get it working great mechanically but refurbishing the cosmetics is expensive and difficult.

The black one has been for sale for some time, I think a few months ago in a previous auction it had a BIN $8900 IIRC.

The second-generation ST bikes are quite a bit different from a 90's Supersport. Much bigger fairings and riding position is more open.

$9500 might be an OK deal, but plan on changing the timing belts for sure & possibly tires.

Despite the low mileage you could probably get it for a bit less, IMO.

 

Raining today...the 'open' part is gonna be a drag!! LOL!

Thinking of getting an enclosed trailer or something......

That is probably a fair price. Maybe on the high end, but if it is in good shape you shouldn't feel like you overpaid.
