Sliding is also a function of the material you use. I use Peccary and you won’t move at all regardless of how your seats are structured. It’s not cheap but its really great for grip and was what Michael Schumacher used on his formula 1 seats.

I think @Traveller had that (Peccary) for his stunning F12tdf (though my memory may be off, been a couple years).
He had the most amazing thread when collecting his tdf; I’m sure it is easily searched here. Great story and beautiful pix.
    Miss his contributions.... :(

He did. His tdf was the inspiration for our TM 812SF although we chose Foglizzo leather instead of Peccary. Traveller is a true gentleman and has been a great asset to the FChat community and me personally.

Thank for all the info as I just purchased a Tailor Made SF. I see a lot of you have mentioned the Battery Tender. How long should car be parked without it? Thanks.

Seems like most people say the Ferrari electronics don't do well with more than a week sitting. I generally plug my tender in whenever I'm not driving unless I know I'm definitely going out within the next day or two. Cheers!

My thought is that a year ago I would have taken a bath if I traded it in, now I can get full price but I still don't want to trade it.

    I’ve owned an 812SF (2019) for 4 weeks.
The cabin noise seems very loud when cruising at 70mph or quicker, especially on the motorway. At 80mph the other day I recorded 82 decibels using professional equipment. Others on the forum say how quiet the car is to drive when cruising. I do have the stock Pirelli tyres. I’ve actually started wearing earplugs for long journeys…… Has anyone else measured the cruising cabin noise levels in theirs? Would be helpful to hear whether I have a potential issues or not?

    Sounds excessive.
I presume that is with the windows closed and stock exhaust? If so, what is the sound source? Road noise? Engine Noise? Other? Maybe there is a loose seal, did you check the rear hatch glass? Has it been replaced (Ferrari recall), maybe it was not correctly fitted?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, windows closed and stock exhaust.

It sounds like a combo of road and engine, but mostly road. Funny you should mention the rear hatch glass, the majority of the loud noise is coming (booming) from behind me, at head height. Thanks for the heads up on the recall, and the seal issue, I’ll ask the question. I’m wondering how much quieter the Mitchelins are too?

Let us know what you find, as for the tires, there should not be much difference in cabin noise level, especially with new tires that are not worn to half of less of original tread depth. The Michelin tires are better overall in design and seem to provide better grip overall, that's the general consensus.

I had the Pirellis on the 812 and the Michelin on the GTS- road noise about the same but the Michelin’s stick like glue. Check tire pressures also as out of range pressures may increase road noise.

The noise is from the being on 7th gear and cursing at highway speeds. I have the same thing. Once the gear is shifted to 6th it’s all good. This car needs to rev!

Yes, agree about the revs. I noticed with my cars at lower RPMs there is a boomy/ almost drone sound from the exhaust around 1500- just under 2000 RPM. Keep the revs around 2000 for slow driving on level surfaces when you need to modulate the throttle and dont want to jerk the car around due to the engine compression.

UK road noise is due to terrible UK tarmac. Whenever I reach the continent via France or Spain, the reduction in noise is huge. Densely populated island needs hard wearing tarmac to cope but it’s often poor for noise and spray.

Just joined the club. Have an F8 and an allocation for a GTS, but, it is uncertain if it will happen, If it does, I will have to wait at least a year to a year and a half. So in the mean time, found a nice preowned 812 and bought it. Maybe it belonged to somebody here. I hope it doesn't have any hidden secrets. CarFax is clean, but we know how reliable CarFax can be. The main reason to buy this particular SF was the color. Bianco Italia. I love the color. Nearly all my cars are white and my favorite of all whites is Bianco Italia. So this nice couple, V8 and V12 will be wearing the same pearly wedding dress. Comes home Monday or Tuesday.
