So I received the TPMS bypass a couple of days ago. It took me about 45 seconds to see it was below the glove box not inside it... And it took about 20 seconds to install... Perfect. No error messages replacing my digital speedo which I like to see. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And out for another great drive. I love the sportshift on this car. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pretty peaceful day. Fabspeed x pipe / sport cats with the fuse pulled is pretty epic Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Received new glass switch pieces to go into my car to replace the plastic ones. They look great. Can’t wait but the order was missing one based on my config. Will get these in soon. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ok, so I’d love to get opinions and thoughts from the owners out there on their..... arm rests. Here is the standard unit in my 2009, updated from the original in 2005-2007. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
It provides extra storage space and a configurable two small drink area with a foldable metal holder if needed. It also provides an old school, wired connection to connect iPod / phone which in today’s world is old tech and not needed. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
The problem with the design is that it becomes uncomfortable for your elbow point when resting it holding the wheel. Aston tried to remedy the issue (not caught in the design phase) by later including a leather elbow pad to fit in the cup area. My car did not come with one of these leather “pillows” so I have not experienced this if it’s a true fix or if your elbow still falls on the edges or cracks as a half-assed, non-solution. I’m not sure if the pillow is hard or soft. Not sure if if has any cushion or if it’s a hard surface. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
The 2017 vantage was last iteration before the new car design came out. Aston again made a change to the arm rest to move the cup holders / storage bin toward the rear like the one from 2005 -2007 and gave the front elbow a smooth landing pad. Not sure if they gave up on cup holders like the 2005-2007 which had a rubber holder separating the cups. I like the idea of the 2017 version of the arm rest and wonder if I could order one to replace mine or if that would be a bad idea. One of the special Q car designs even had a better design... could be the best. I could go for that too. Wonder if any of these could actually be affordable and not cost $5k I will have to contact the Works Dept. anyone converted theirs or looked into this? Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login

I’d love to find a modification affecting the least amount of my car to get a comfortable landing zone for my elbow. I look forward to the groups thoughts. Robb
Out again today for a great drive in AZ. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My armrest is perfectly comfortable. The useless cup holders are way back. I bought and installed glass switches from Bamford Rose a couple years ago, it was pretty easy but pretty expensive. Looks nice, though. (The attached picture is before I installed the new switches but it showed the arm rest the best) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here's a newer pic showing some of the glass switches, the DBS shift knob, and machined stainless steel HVAC, radio, and nav knobs.
Can't offer much input, other than empathy. I've not tried any other armrest design or retrofit than the original in my '07, but I can appreciate the difficulty of finding any useful purpose for that surface other than a smooth, comfortable pad to rest your arm. The surface is already pretty high in relation to my elbow, so adding anything on top of that just infringes on my ability to comfortably rest my arm on it. ..the only use I've found for the 'cupholder' is to hold some sundry trinkets, spare keys, sunglasses or a small iPhone 5. Thanks for sharing your 'journey', it's good knowledge. - Art Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I will try to find a first gen or last gen arm rest. The one I have is built well but I just can’t put my elbow down anywhere smooth without an edge... Robb
Got my Vantage out of winter storage today and went for a rip through the countryside. She rolled past 16,000 miles on the ride.
Back at the house after another great drive. I do love the car, the V8, this exhaust, and the paddles. I don’t think I’d really pick a different Aston. Timeless lines. Glass switches will be installed soon. I ordered the elbow pad for the armrest. We’ll see if it helps at all. Next step if it doesn’t is to order the lower one. Robb Image Unavailable, Please Login
