Have any of you seen this watch? I saw it yeaterday at a higher end watch place really beautiful peice. It is fully endorsed my Schumacher and is limited to 4000 peices world wide. The price here in Canada is $5500 but I'm sure it can be found for less.

I'm not in any way assosicated with the Omega watch company. I just though I would pass this info on for anybody who my be interested as the watch only cmae out 10 days ago.

I would love it {large price and all} but I go through 2 watches a year. I just don't take care of them. I think $250 is enough for my watches and most are less. I would punch myself if I broke that watch.
Well, here's to, not taking care of my stuff!
    Cheers.

Ditto, I love nice watches ... but the only one that withstands the abuse is ... a splendid 17$ Casio G-shock!!! LMAO I guess I'll keep lurking on nice watches until I force myself to never forget to remove it when wrenching or MXing ... :(

My mother bought me a very nice watch about 5 years ago and I broke it playing basketball. I rushed around the city to find another so I wouldn't have to tell her what happened {or how it happened rather}. Now it gets put in a box before and after I am at her front door. I'm just not carfull enough with them. Heck I'll fiddle with my motor while still wearing my "office" clothes. I just don't care. :"(

I did cut the grass with my brand new shoes after 3 days of rain. That pi$$ed me off. I went back to the store and said I was buying a pair for my friend. :(((

I believe that Schumacher wears various models from Omega's Speedmaster line. He has his own special edition of the Speedmaster too, but I don't know if there has been any newer ones released.

Omega also has a line called Seamaster and they are absolutely beautiful. Much better looking than the Speedmasters in my opinion. Pierce Brosnan (007) is the posterboy for the series.

Personally I just wear a Swatch. It's cheap, accurate and looks bloody good for its price.
(and I did buy it in Maranello! So I'm not replacing this one in a hurry ;))

The new MS watch looks great.
I allready have an Omega though (Omega Speedmaster Professional) I can attest to their quality and preformance.
My only gripe is that my watch is Hesalite Crystal. So it scratches extremly easley. I know Omega did that for authenticicy but still.

I inquired about this Schumacher watch recently. Very very nice. He of course has been an "ambassador" for Omega since joining Ferrari in '96. If you look carefully you can see him wearing his Omegas while in the car, during press conferences, in the paddock and elsewhere. Schumacher was actually working for TAG Heuer while at Benetton.

If you go to the Omega website (www.omega.ch) you can read about the various celebrity endorsers as well as Omega's involvement in the James Bond series, NASA, and sea expeditions.

    Here's Schumi's page http://www.omega.ch/omega/wo_star_ambass_schumi_intro.

I personally have a Seamaster Professional Chronometer, model 2531.80.00 (i.e. the "James Bond" watch).

I have this yellow one - this is not a picture of mine but I do have all of this stuff. These were available in yellow, red and blue. I got mine around 1998 in Sydney. Since then I've seen some others that have CART logos as well. Depending on which one you're looking for these shouldn't cost more than a couple grand US. Look on ebay under "speedmaster schumacher" and there will be plenty that turn up. (I got this pic from there)

I wear mine as my weekender - crystal is a bit scratched but they are plastic and easily replaced. Mind you I work in a consulting business so don't tear up watches that much. I am really happy with mine although I am looking at others as I'm a bit over the yellow all the time.

    Cheers
    Kevin

OK, here are some pics of the two latest Michael Schumacher Omega Speedmasters referred to in this thread.

The first is the Speedmaster Michael Schumacher "The Legend" watch, celebrating Schumacher's 6 world championships. It's limited to 6000 pieces and came out this year. Model number: 3559.32.00

The second is the Speedmaster Michael Schumacher "Racing" watch, also in celebration of Schumacher and Formula One. This one however is not a limited edition. It's also available on a leather strap. Model number: 3552.59.00 (bracelet), 3852.59.11 (leather strap).

I am no expert (but own an Omega Speedmaster), but there have been at least 4 "official Schumacher" watches over the past several years...probably more....

Yep, the one in kfhenry's post is the first, released just after Michael became an Omega "ambassador," in 1996.

I described and posted pictures of the two latest ones which are available today.

I presume it has had two services since then, one in 1995, and one in 2000, with the next one coming up in 2005?

5 year services are mandatory to ensure the waterproofing is still intact, as well as to lubricate the movement.

Oh yea, btw, I just worked out that it has cost you around 80 cents per day to wear (not accounting for inflation). :D

    Here's another one, LOL!

"The Ref. 3159.50.00 is a limited series Broad Arrow that celebrates OMEGA ambassador Michael Schumacher’s historic five Formula 1 world championship titles.

It has an 18-carat red gold case and matching 18-carat red gold bracelet with polished detailing. The bezel, with its tachometer scale, is in brushed 18-carat gold and the black dial has 18-carat red gold applied hour markers and “Broad Arrow” hour and minute hands and central chronograph hand.

The unique look of this watch is rounded off by the name Michael Schumacher written on the dial in gold lower-case lettering on either side of the counter at 6 o’clock and protected with a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

This limited-edition model uses the exclusive Omega Caliber 3303 self-winding chronograph movement with column-wheel chronograph mechanism. The movement is an officially certified chronometer (COSC) and has a power reserve of 55 hours.

The watch’s screw-in case back has the special engraving “Michael Schumacher Five Times World Champion”, with the year of each title engraved between the tool notches. Production of this limited-edition timepiece is strictly limited to a total of 555 individually numbered pieces, of which 50 on the 18kt red gold bracelet and 505 on the black alligator leather strap with 18kt red gold foldover clasp."

    Released early 2003.
