Anyone remember this guy? Saw him a few times. He walked kinda funny. Must have been because of the the size of the kahonas it takes to ride something like this. What is his name? A few years ago i started a signed die cast collection. I have managed to collect quite a few. Bunch of cars signed by Ronnie Sox (my childhood racing hero) 1 signed by Grumpy. a few signed by Dick Landy, 1 signed by Shirley, 2 signed by Garlits, a couple signed by Butch Leal, 2 By Mr. Norm, 1 by Carroll Shelby, 1 by Richard Petty, 1 by Ohio George Mongomery, 1 by Herb Mccandles, 2 by Linda Vaughn, Thats all I can remember right now.
Sweet. You have several there that I did not know they did die cast replicas of. Like McCandless and Mr. Norm. Any pictures of them? I have one of the the looks raced Ferrari 355 Challenge Cars that Mattel did back about 2000. It has the driver name Stephen Earle on it. Also his 360 Challenge, both with Ferrari of Houston windshield banners. Hey Rob, will you autograph the 355 for me?????? Neither of these two are autographed. I got to know Doc pretty well while at FoDallas but never asked him to sign anything..... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Just something I found. Kind of sad when you wonder what could have been if he and his wife had not been murdered......... Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd spent a hour with him over the telephone discussing someone and what to do about them and the judgment he had against them. We were going to get together about that the week after he was killed. Terrible shame. However, he was nobody to cross. Art
I did not know him personally but I heard the same thing, that he was no one to cross. He was a real innovator in his day.......
I''m not sure about that.....All of the SoCal Tracks were trying everything to increase track gates but I always thought that C.J. Hart (Pappy) at Long Beach started that trend.
Ak Miller was a pioneer that helped raise NHRA and is turning in his grave now....see this (http://www.hotrod.com/thehistoryof/hrdp_0606_ak_miller_history_best_hot_rodder/american_hot_rod_foundation.html) for a more complete story.
