So many possibilities here: She dropped her keys in the creek? She wants to poke that squirrel that's floating by to see if it really is dead or if it is just pretending? Fishing (using 4 pound test line so it doesnt show up in the photo)? Wants to see how deep the water is before they get to the "skinny dipping" part of the photo shoot? Like us, she has no idea either? She retrieved the stick from the creek because she needs something to smack the S.U. fuel pump with a few times to hopefully get the car to start? The creepy photographer guy who drove her out to the middle of nowhere for this photo shoot is starting to get a little too fresh? What you don't see is just out of the frame there is a giant bear that just appeared out of the woods foaming at the mouth?
I also LOVE vintage car ads. I like finding them for the cars I own. It is fun to look at them and try to appreciate the car for what it was when it was new instead of looking at them now as a classic with a few decades of hindsight. And they really don't make ads like the used to. Most of the ones nowadays are so generic and predictable. You get a flashy photo and maybe a sentence-fragment of a blurb about the vehicle. "Best in Class", or some BS like that. Just the thing for modern, ADD attention spans of about 3 seconds. Most of the old ads have a few paragraphs if not half a page of text, and they are great to read. I guess it was a slower time, when people actually thought a little about what they were looking at and wanted more information than a quick photo and a few words like "zoom-zoom". Anyway, I have a few hanging in my garage. Two for the MG and one Mondial ad I found. The funny thing is one of the MG ads I have calls the Midget "The People's Ferrari". I love my little MG, but I was not sure I agreed with that assesment. So a few years later I went and bought the Mondial and can now be certain that I do actually have "The People's Ferrari"! Here are the ones I have: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well, this thread got me digging around ebay and I came across another ad with the Mondial in it that I couldn't resist buying. Looks like the ad is for a "Mondial" furniture collection, but the ad features a red Mondial 8. Seeing as how my car is red and the only old ad I have shows a silver one, I figured this one was needed. Much the way my wife "needs" a seventh pair of pink shoes. I must say I do agree that the Mondial (car or furniture I suppose) is for "the discriminating few"! Anybody know where I can get some of this Mondial furniture? How cool would it be to use that in the lounge area of my garage? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Here is a good Lotus one as well. Tons more Lotus ads here: http://www.lotusbuzz.com/forums/showthread.php?t=386&highlight=advertisement Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Here are a few old pics of Mick Jagger and Ringo Starr. What car is Ringo with? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ringo was posing with a Facel Vega HK500. French hand-built with Chrysler V8. A collector item if one can be found.
Ringo is next to a Facel II. I've attached pics of my FV4 . The HK 500 shared the same body with some minor trim changes. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
