    Hey guys,

I've had a pretty big oil leak pooling in the valley between the heads. I tracked it down to the oil temp sender. I pulled off my old one and it looked pretty tired, with a pretty bad washer. This is the part I removed:

Looking to order a replacement, I'm getting some weird parts cross-referencing issues. FPE is showing the two different senders:

    100453:

    or

Is 100453 the correct replacement part? Is there a crush washer or some other way handle the oil leak?

    Thanks!!

That looks like the low oil pressure warning light switch 110664 (if you have 1978 US version 308 GTB/GTS). See #37 here:

to compare the location that you removed it from (the oil temp sensor is down in the wet sump).

(But you might need to supply your own Copper or Aluminum sealing washer as your old one looks like it came with a captive Aluminum sealing washer.)

Hi, when mine broke down, short circuit, I found a local Alfa dealer who had a similar with correct threads. It uses a crush washer, just anneal the old one or buy a new and you are good to go. I usually sand down a bit with 400 grit paper (EU norm). Maybe not necessary, but I have found washers with deep scratches. These are easily seen when sanding a bit.

@Steve Magnusson That's got to be it! Thank you for pointing me in the right direction!!

Will a simple, copper crush washer get it done??

Yes, a W60 solid (annealed) Copper washer with the correct ID, OD, and thickness (probably 1.5mm) willl be fine.
