No matter how hard I tighten it, it still unscrews itself after a few hundred miles.

Does anyone have any tricks on how to prevent this?

I enjoy the sound and high revs of having a flat-plane crank, but, have to accept the vibration coming with it. Have you checked the motor mount condition recently?

Every time I get home from any drive, I open the lid to let heat escape to avoid cooking the electric components. Then leave a note on the roof. When cool, I cinch the cap a bit. After a bit, it becomes routine. Not sure what would happen if left unchecked.

I have owned my CS from new. It does not have a drilled safety wire cap.

Is the rubber seal still inside the cap? Blue locktite might help. One wrap of thin elec tape?
