I finally scored the whole KLementaski & Ferrari Book......

Funny you would ask about Phil Hill, I had the three photos from the R&T John Lamm series.
I sold two and kept the "red car" one IIRC it's a Maserati.
These were signed by both Phil and John.......The one I kept was with two other Ferrari related event posters in a hard binder.....I fell against my drum set and punched an identical hole, damaging all three pieces.

I'm going to pay to scan and fix them, so I could offer one of the "First Generation repros" or I guess we cut out the damage and frame the original signatures...leaving three forths of a John Lamm photo, I think that would look wierd but maybe not...or frame it with the damage it might not be noticable...after dry mount..

I have a vintage B&W of Hilll and Shelby, signed by both...famous photographer the too, name escapes me...it's an 8 x10

I'm digging thru all my "stuff' and your BOOK is soon out the door!!

I'm posting in the Posters thread in Ads above, and will continue as I find stuff....

Now Amazon is saying September 7, so an additional five month delay. Unreal. Why do publishers announce release dates before knowing that they can be met? It’s ridiculous.

I spoke to someone involved in its completion and according to him it could be by the end of this summer. I hope he’s right.

So I see this book is doing the pre release rounds on the internet.

Anyone know anything more about it.

It's not very expensive so just wondering if it's just another general book of photos, etc of all the Ferrari F1 cars or something more substantial?

Mark, I purchased a "proof" copy too back when this book was published. I was a couple of days late for a numbered edition, but was informed that they had 5 or 6 proof copies if I would like one of those instead.

So with that said, maybe up to 10 proofs in circulation. I would think there is no difference in value between the two.

    It's a superb book.

Thanks for the info regarding numbers Matt.

Yes, generally AP editions of anything are valued the same as a numbered version.

Hmmm, 224 pp... considering Jonathan Thompson filled 192 pages with virtually the same subject in 1976 this doesn't encourage high hopes.
Codling is respectable as a writer but it looks like much of the content will be given to fresh studio shots of restored cars, which I have no time for.
From sales blurb this seems like an attempt to cash in on an anniversary, much like lots of new books these days.

I agree, fewer and fewer new books have the same everlasting appeal as the classic Ferrari books of the past.

    Congratulations. Hahaha the gloves.
    I remember when mine arrived.
The only problem is the size and weight makes it hard to curl up with in bed.
Thank goodness I have a lady friend who fulfils that role instead!! :) :)

There are some mentions on Ferrari-Chat but, I think, no mention in this thread about the book "27: Patrick Tambay - The Ferrari Years" by Massimo Burbi (with Patrick Tambay) with wonderful photographs by Paul-Henri Cahier and a forward by Alain Prost. This book covers a period of F1 that especially fascinates me as I only became interested in F1 in 1986 and there appears to be so little written about the years just prior to this. It is for this reason that I especially enjoyed the David Sedgwick book on Didier Pironi.

The Tambay book seems to be available in many places but I have only seen this edition on the publisher's website:

Signed by Patrick Tambay and probably the lowest numbered, and most limited edition, book I will ever own!

Tambay himself wrote a book about his Ferrari time, I saw him at Retromobile promoting it a couple of years ago. He did not look well, I gather he has health issues. I liked him, what a task he had in 82...
