I've often wondered if at the end of the day it was actually cheaper to just pay the used market premium over the costs associated with being a "VIP" client
Till 7-8 years ago, you came out ahead if you were a VIP client, till 3-4 years ago you broke even as a VIP client, now you pay for the opportunity and prestige. TOP client probably break even on a long 3-5 year cycle.
I’ll never come out ahead financially with cars because I buy with the heart, build an emotional bond with a car, and can’t bring myself to sell easily. If a car is unreliable (which is rare nowadays) then I can sell easily, but that usually means trading for a similar example. Building that bond involves driving many thousands of depreciating miles.
Agreed but how much does it cost to buy and run a XX car or a F1 car on top of buying all the series production cars at current pricing. Hence my comment around TOP clients under today's pricing breaking even or maybe a small profit over a 3-5 year cycle. 3-5 years ago TOP clients were deep in the money as you have pointed out yourself.
I think it’s interesting to see so few GTS on the market, I think people are starting to think this is a really special car, I do.
On mobile.de (Europe) prices of 23 actual cars range from € 439K to € 525K (there is one allocation advertised for € 354K, but since the car has to be configured it's not clear what you'd get for that price).
That’s odd...can find only one in the states. Have to be more but would be shocked, not the first time, to see 23 for sale. That just haven’t made that many of them in general. I have 3k on the clock and plan to use the hell out of it and give it to my kiddo many years down the line.
I read rapidly, two more cars are yet to be delivered - that's still 20 actual cars for sale though, most in Germany but 4 in France for instance (including 1 at Paris official dealer). The web site is really the largest in Europe, very few other cars could be available (since most wanting to sell would advertise on this site for this kind of car). For someone with a €500K budget it's an easy buy (prices starting at €440K).
Interesting thank you. Really surprised by the number, seems high. Must be in weak hands because that car would seem like a keeper to me had I bought one new.
I suspect at least some of them are to be replaced by 812 Competizione or Competizione A, having been bought either by people always buying the latest model before swapping it, or as a way to help getting the Competizione allocation.
Love that, looks like the bat mobile, but somehow meaner without losing its cool. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Here is mine going through, Rosso Fiorano (un-edited pictures)....can’t wait...a keeper View attachment 3144684 View attachment 3144685 Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
