Should Rosso Rubino considered as red? Because this early metallic red paint covers my 308 GTS from 1979.

Hi guys, i don't know if the dramatic rising in value of the 308 models is a bubble which will burst soon but i know for sure that the previous dramatic undervaluation of these models was a total nonsense. There was any reason for a 308 to have a price that is 1/10 of the 240 ones', for example, and when there are these kind of big differences without any possible reason you can bet they won't last. The 308 is for sure the first Ferrari with a V8 engine mounted in central position, is one of the most iconic Ferrari ever made which everyone recognize as "Ferrari" at a glance, has an impressive design which has inspired a whole generation of supercars (not just Ferrari) and still does in some ways, has been a dream for a whole generation of kids and young boys, after 40 years still looks gorgeous, is funny to drive even without 500 and more hp like the actual supercars have and there have been made a relatevely low quantity of pieces (compared to actual production) which became a lot more less after 40 years so to find out a good car, with everything in working order and without any kind of transformation or dummy make up is not pretty easy. The "good" examples out there are not common, the fact their prices rised up a lot in the last year doesn't surprise me, what surprised me was the really low prices of these cars until now. Regards
What surprises me the most is that Dino (246) a 6 cylinder engine car that 15-20 years ago was not even recognized as a true Ferrari car by most people, now it's worth 5 or more times of what a 308 does. And if you had the chance to drive back to back a Dino and a 308, the 308 is a better balanced car. My 2 cents
It looks like 1976 steel North American #20443 red/dark brown is going to auction in Indianapolis. Pretty thin description, and range expected of $60 -$85K. It looks like I should have painted #20405!
exactly. when people say there is a bubble on 308s at a hundred grand, what the hell is a 246 going for at $450K, thats a bubble. 308s should be 250k is those dinos are going at 350-450.
here in Italy there isn't any dry sump 308 for sale at less than 120 k euro (asking price, no idea of the sale price, but I think not much less) ciao
How is it that some people claim they get offers all The time? If somebody offered me over a 125k Euro for any of my cars I would seriously considder but it just never happens to me! ( lucky me as I would regret it probably The minute after accepting it )
Two things come to mind, the people talking are not the people selling. The people buying open their wallets, instead of running down the car in pursuit of a bottom feeder price.
Of course, i still have the factory cromodora vr14 rims with wxw tyres stored aside These 328 rims (speedline) are for my driving pleasure only (they have the same sizes of the original cromodora approved 16" optional rims for the 308, the only thing different is the design of the five spikes star) I never claimed, 6 years ago a guy offered me (for the same car) the stunning amount of money of 25k euro Last year another guy pushed himself till the fabulous price of 50k. This year the music seems to have changed a lot Why i should sell a 308 for at least 1/2 the price of a 246? Nonsense. Who knows? Maybe more, maybe less, i guess the same. How many 308 gts originally painted in white by the factory do you know? P.s: i don't sell, this car is part of my family from 1980 (first and only owner)
If I were you I wouldn't either!! Mine on the other hand is a used up 105K mile scrap heap. Or so it has seemed until lately!! I did have someone come here on Fchat and ask about buying my car. But he said he wanted a pristine condition car which mine is not. No talk about price though.
