Is there such an optional item offered new with the car in the 70s to 80s? If there is, anyone having an example or can provide a photograph of it? Have searched a bit here but didn't find conclusive results. Thanks!
There is indeed a set of canvas covers that is often presented as "OEM", but I'm not sure there are factory-made, perhaps dealer made. You see these from time to time on E-Bay, there was one a few days ago for what I think is too high a price. Most are in a beige canvas with "Ferrari" across "the shoulders" (more or less at the limit between headrest and top of the seat) in black, and opening for the seat levers on the side. I have two sets, one in beige for my 328GTB (Beige seats) and one in Black canvas with grey script, the only one I have ever seen like this, and perfectly matched to my GTS (Black with grey leather), so too nice too let it pass. They costed me each about 150 U$. Rgds
Two pics to illustrate (sorry, the one from the black seat covers in the GTS is really poor and yellowish...but it is all I have) Rgds Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nerofer examples are the ones you want. Best out there hands, down. I have had a pair on my seats since I recovered them in 2002. I only pull them off when I show the car. Seats still look new under them and they hold up very well. 13 years and going with mine. Faded but still in great shape. At the 2014 FCA Nationals they had a brand new pair of tan ones on silent auction. I got really lucky and won.
When I got my QV the guy that brokered the deal for me gave me a pair of the black/grey like yours. My interior was tan but the car is black so it really didn't look that bad. When I found a new set of tan ones, I sold the black ones on eBay (they were actually the very first items I ever sold on eBay) To this day I wish I never let them go.
Great info Bruno and Dr., I was thinking of getting a pair of those silky red ones just recently, now a much more difficult target to hunt for
Steven, Go to eBay.com, look for object 331719824489, Ferrari s'est covers 308 328; There is a pair at 799.99 USD for sale. The price notwithstanding, This Is what You are looking for... Rgds
Very pricy... But they look nice! The one I was looking at: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-OEM-red-satin-storage-seat-covers-308-328-348-355-360-430-Tesstarossa-/291630235633 So it is just a generic OEM or even not OEM?
The satin red ones are only period-correct for later cars, beginning in the second half of the nineties I believe. But not for our " old Fiats"... Rgds
Who said the tools are overpriced? So the 365 one is the same as the 308 one? They look identical to me from the pictures.
Be the envy of everyone at the next concourse...NOT Sheepskin Seat Covers Carlamb Ferrari Mondial Italian Sportscar 2 Tone Headrest | eBay
My car came from the previous owner with something very similar... just goes to show how bad the leather was underneath that he thought these were better LOL.
Mine had sheep skin seat covers when I bought it. I drove home on them (Atlanta - Birmingham) but the very next morning they removed first thing which is saying a lot. I had been waiting 16 years to own one and I could barely sleep with it in the driveway and one more day of weekend left - but I wasn't going one more inch in it until both of those things were out.
How disappointed with you I am now, Steven...here we have a man able to write an entire thread about the "Fiocchi" name on the snaps of a tool roll, but who does not notice that the 365 covers have no piping ("passepoil", in French) whereas the 308/328 covers have one that goes around the seat proper, separates the headrest from the back of the seat, etc... Ouch... Rgds
They are the same or different? I mean 308 and 328 ones... The seats should be similar in size, so I reckon they use the same canvas covers no?
Wow $85 was a great price ... I looked off and on for a long time trying to find the canvas type seat covers. Luckily one of my friends had a set and let me borrow one. I took it to my local tailor shop and they made me two new covers using my friends as a pattern. They turned out nice and work very well. They charged me $75, but I had to buy the material, which IIRC was about $20 ... so all in it cost me <$100. No logos etc, but I was ok with that.
