I'm fine with it to. For whatever reason that kid rubs me the wrong way and he has been getting beaten pretty badly by Ricciardo this year. For all the hype he should be doing better and if he loses his seat so be it.

No different than Albon. The flashes of speed must be consistent and he must challenge his team mate and make progress.

At least Alexander Albon doesn't come with an attitude issue.

Agreed except for Russel. I think he has talent. Just made a very bone headed rookie mistake in Imola.

In the case of Russell and Latifi, it's impossible to evaluate them because of their car, IMO.
Albon who was promising is now in the Red Bull meat grinder.
In defense of Ocon, his career has been messed up.
Giovinazzi is the most disappointing to me.

Latifi was fairly lackluster in the junior formulae punctuated by 5 seasons in GP2 (most single seater apprenticeships don't last this long let alone one category). Yes his car is not good but it would take a pretty impressive turn to justify his place (on pace that is :))

Albon is not doing himself any favors and being teamed up with Max (a once in a generation driver) is no help to his cause

Ocon I don't see the appeal of and appears to be more sizzle than steak.

Giovanazzi amazes me that he has been in F1 as long as he has. Must have an incredible manager (Like Fisichella did) to still have a job

Russell appears to be the real deal and it would be amazing to see him in a good car. His Imola error albeit poorly timed is worthy of forgiveness given the great performances he has had in the past 2 years. It is hard for a driver used to winning to be at the back and he has shown incredible self confidence to keep his head up despite the poor results on paper.

Ocon came into F1 on a high horse ''the man that beat Max''. I can't recall anything he's done of note in F1.

Russell hustles that Williams. I'm not judging him on a single mistake he's made.

I like Albon, I like his back story (lost drives because of internal family issues, having to look after his family, then suddenly back in racing....did great in F2 despite the team he was in, lost all chance of future career before suddenly ending up in F1 beating all the odds!). But his first year of F1 wasn't really as good as was hoped. It wasn't bad, either. He's been thrown into RBR too early. Back to STR and fight it out with Gasly. If he doesn't improve, insert Tsunoda.

AFAIR, Marchionne got along with Giovinazzi during the time when he was a development driver at Ferrari and somehow promised him a place in F1. It seems that John Elkann is honoring Marchionne's will.

Russell is very talented, Albon is not as talented but is the guy who worked/works as hard as he can.
