    Chris Harris tested the Honda NSX against the Skyline GT-R in 2002 for Autocar, and ended up giving the nod to the Honda to his own surprise.

    He said about the NSX: “It’s a sensational drivetrain: one that draws and stands comparison with the very best efforts from Italy. The NSX’s low-speed manners seem quite ordinary; it’s anything but when you open the throttles wide, though. Then it’s all induction noise – a gorgeous stream from just behind the passenger’s head, and one that builds with the power delivery until an 8000rpm cut-off. You extend it just for the thrill. The Skyline still has the odd trick up it sleeve, but it’s feeling old in this company. The NSX remains an exemplary piece of precision engineering, honed into a fine driving experience – one whose qualities have outlasted a generation of less well-conceived rivals.”

    Got out for a drive today - one of many lately. All good. Mainly cruising and enjoying back roads. Nothing crazy and no launch controls.

    Local cars and coffee this morning. It was packed. Huge variety of cars. 600LT was beautiful.
    Driving out through the crowd it was in EV mode. Heard a guy say, wow, that’s a quiet car.
    Then a lunch burrito and a drive. Almost no traffic so a good time enjoying the car and beautiful morning.

    In April 1991, Performance Car Magazine pitted the new NSX against the Porsche 911 Carrera 2 and Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo.

    Brian Laban wrote, “The Honda has a little more hidden depth. Good as it felt on the road, on the circuit it becomes simply sensational. It feels very quick; quick to go, quick to stop, delectably quick to come to grips with. It has no handling vices whatsoever, just an uncanny willingness to be thrown around in full drifts with absolute control and precision in even the very fastest of corners. Try as hard as you like and the blend of balance and response is so consistent that the NSX becomes awesomely confidence inspiring.”

    Few more. The Rambler was beautiful, don’t think it was stock (note the shifter and LED shift light). Classic sleeper. Love the E63S wagon. The Camaro next to it was sweet too.

    A beautiful 1993 example which we sold over the weekend from an existing client to a new client. The buyer elected to drive it home from Oregon to California, it performed as intended!

    Northern Balt Co and Carroll Co today. Beautiful driving roads. Lots of bicycles so really have to be careful. Pooleseville is farther southwest.

    Beautiful day and time of year. Corn and other crops are starting to be harvested, so go time for farmers. I remember those days.

    Life’s been upside down for the past few weeks. Finally back in town and was able to get out for a nice drive with the wife. Such an amazing car.
