Hi, it's been many years since I sold my 308 and am now back in the market for another Ferrari. I've been looking at 3 models, the F430, the 458, and the 599. I know they all have their pros and cons. I recently saw a fully converted Novitec F430 with 12K miles on it. I don't know much about the Novitec conversion and whether it's worth the price the dealer is asking for it $150K. Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

The Novitec F430 was my dream car when it came out. I don’t think it’s aged as well as the stock F430, but that’s just my opinion. The challenge in owning it would be lack of repair/replacement parts should something break. Also, I don’t think their support is that great. Probably ok if you think it has collector value and don’t plan on driving it often, but I wouldn’t pay a premium for one unless the modifications are exactly to your liking.

The problem i think will be getting parts for when the supercharger breaks down or whatever, other than that absolutely the way to go (in my opinion, but then again im not an OEM freak, far from it)

For reference, theres 2 for sale in europe currently... milage is in KM ofcorse so /1.6 for miles

Looking at your price and those in EU, with milage in consideration, it seems cheap?

I had a yellow Novitec 430 scud as my screensaver in highschool, and i still use that exact same photo on my private and work laptop... so im a bit biased.

Thanks. Those are great points about the availability of parts. I think I'll post the same question to the general car discussion section also.

Hi. I was in your exact same position several years ago. I sold my 308 to buy up. Market went crazy, then I went for a 360 during covid. Mind you, I spent lots of time on the tracks and in day/week rentals on 430 and 458s. I eventually sold my 360 as it was a manual, to buy up to a timing chain based 430. This car was ideal for me for service aspects, less computers, and ability to easily convert to manual.

I have recently done all of that, new exhaust system, manual conversion, and all the finishing touches. I could not be happier. I bought my car with 26k miles, it now has 31 and I love it. It is a fun as my 308 was, sportier like more modern cars, and easy to own and maintain. I was able to get a car with slightly higher mileage but saving costs far less than dealer typical prices.

So that was my brief experience. Let me know if you would like more thoughts...

They look awful to me, take a classy well thought out car from one of the most famous, desirable brands in the world, then ruin it!

I just don't get the appeal!
