Aaron- The 575M is actually 220 ms, 575M HGTC/Superamerica/612 is 180 ms, 612 HGTS/HGTC is ~160 ms, and they got that down to 125 ms in late pre-OTO 612s with the same hardware. That should be about the minimum you can get without the twin disc clutch and Superfast 1 software.

Trev has massaged the ECUs in my 575M to go with my HGTC TCU and that should actually improve on the 180 ms. Should have her back soon.

Actually no, it's the opposite, the slower the shift the more clutch slip!

Relevant experience: Today I received the first OEM part of the many I must acquire for the conversion of my '05 612. $172.71 for two chunks of hard rubber sandwiched between steel plates, with threaded studs for bolting up the front and rear shifter shafts. My vendor, the Wisconsin shop of T. Rutlands, represented that this unit is the only one they had in stock. Are there any more in North America? Who knows? I took a picture:

    Thanks Taz,

I would really like to hear your thoughts on how this turns out.

Like I said before, the video of Machetinno driving Fabio Fiammenghi's 575 appeared that he car had zero head jerking and I know that @360trev did the TCU's for Fabio.

Speaking of parts and maybe I will start a separate thread…

….where are all of the takeoff F1 components going from all of these conversions? Are the owners keeping them in a sealed package and keeping them with the car? Are they going in at Parts bin? Etc.

Although the links won't work for me, I can tell by the URLs that the references are to the Eurospares parts catalog. I have actually submitted my parts list to Eurospares. Its reply included the information that, when it last checked stock for this part in November 2022, it had nine on hand. The 612 conversion requires two. With 575 and 599 conversions also using this part supplies are running out quickly.

@14.02mins. Ed mentions how stiff the shifter is.
This platform is a 360/430 shift tower, looks like they modified the design to fit the console of the 599, but because its a 360/430 based shift tower probably using some of the same parts, so it will always be stiff and won't change. If you look even the gate plate selector is a 360/430 design and not flat. Also in this conversion theres is no click clack sound of the metal in gear changes. if you watch this video
starting @1:20 you can clearly hear all the click clacks of the gate.

Huh..I would suggest people hang on the the F1 equipped cars. They will become quite rare if this trend continues.

I drove Normal Guy Supercar Dan's 599 and I could tell you all that it was awesome. I have never driven an OEM gated 599, or even an F1 599 for that matter; however, I could say that the shifting was super smooth and the rev hold was like a dashpot which aided in smoother shifting (from what I understand a V12 could dump out its RPMs rather quickly). And @360trev is a brilliant programmer with all of the modifications that he has made to the Ferrari ECU encoding.

As a manufacturer, I could tell you that it is tough, especially when you outsource the parts. For all of you who have your cars at EAG, hang in there because the wait is really worth it.

Hi @180 Out, FerrariChat newbie Rick here. Yes, that's my 2008 599 Grigio Silverstone, unbadged. I've been patiently waiting for the conversion for over a year now and from the reviews I've been reading on EAG Art's gated 6 conversions, fingers crossed, I will not be disappointed. I made sure that I am also getting the @360trev tune for my conversion. As soon as I get to drive it which I hope before April ends, I will post here. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Welcome to Ferrarichat, @rickyg75. I look forward to your review of your converted car. Did you take the photo of your 599 in your own garage? The presence of an Aston Martin DB6 and a V8, assuming they're yours, suggests that you have a ready reserve of the stoicism it takes to participate in this frustrating and expensive hobby. I expect you have experienced a good deal of both frustration and expense waiting for your conversion.

Speaking for myself, I have always found it hard to fault EAG Art for the delays for which EAG has become unfortunately famous. There have been so many challenges in the three years since he and NGS Dan started down this road. Plans that didn't work out, very large amounts of money spent, delays in prototyping and sourcing from outside suppliers, and I expect a lot of difficulty finding, training, and retaining the techs to do the work. Now that EAG is in more or less series production of the V12 conversions I will not be surprised if all the problems are solved and smooth sailing ensues.

The May 12 episode of the Hoovie's Garage Youtube channel reveals another bump in the road for the European Auto Group 599 conversions. It turns out that the shape of the reverse gear shifter gate made it difficult (impossible?) to put Tyler Hoover's 599 in reverse. At 6:58 of the May 12 episode, EAG Art and Tyler discuss this issue and reveal that the problem is that EAG adapted their F430 design to the 599 kit and did not know that the shape of the F430's reverse gate would not work on the 599. I expect those who have taken delivery of their EAG-converted 599s already know about this issue, but those still waiting will have to wait a little longer. Tyler says EAG represents it will ship him a replacement part on May 20. In the meantime he is running a plastic unit that EAG made with a 3D printer.

I just find it confusing that people will say in one video that "its perfect, I love it!", when it later transpires there are appreciable issues.

Main thing though is EAG are getting it fixed for Hoovie, and presumably the other customers.

I think the bulk of people that get their conversions and blindly defend them don't have a background in automotive mechanics or engineering so they just repeat what EAG told them.

That being said, their CEO seems to be genuinely trying to turn things around for them.

But Hoovie definitively didn't jump the queue...

The argument given for this was that the kit was provided by Dan, which I can buy into. Where I struggle is that there is clearly a lot of cars waiting to be worked on at EAG, so presumably the work schedule was broken into to install this kit. This is speculation, but not unreasonable I think.
