BTW - Italy has been testing much more than America. In their location (there are now two different strains of this virus) they calculate a mortality rate of 7.8%. Most attribute the higher mortality to the aging population in Italy.

Well, in a continuing effort, I’ll try again. Last time though. From here on out - YOYO. Math don’t lie. Since last Thursday (see post #25), our number of infected has essentially doubled once again. Faster than the current models predict. We are already at nearly 3,300 infected. A logarithmic doubling in just 4 days instead of 6. Go back and read post#25. Do the math. Italy is totally shut down. Germany has shut its Southern borders. The Fed did another emergency rate cut to nearly zero just moments ago. Financially, America will soon come to a screeching halt - quickly following China and Europe. The financial implications are dire.... but that is a different post. Here are the facts.... Some 20% of those infected will require hospitalization. Half of those will wind up in the ICU. Half of those will die. Not hyperbole. Facts and mathematics. Hmmmm... how many days before ALL beds in the ICU are full? How many will be infected? Do the math... Next week... more than 6,600 infected Following week... more than 13,200 infected Following week... more than 26,400 infected Etc etc If you catch this virus, you will be without symptoms from 12 to 29 days (depends which country’s data is used). During that time, you will be infecting many of the people with whom you come into contact. The current R0 says you will likely infect 7 people. Which 7 will you infect? Spouse? Children? Parents? Customers? If you choose to ignore the facts and remain self-centered you will not only get yourself infected, but those around you. Trump and all the gov experts (fallible for sure) are doing the best they can to save lives. Only an ignorant, self centered fool would not heed their words. As to China - they have formally, through their Foreign Minister Lijian Zhao accused the US Army of covertly attacking China with a biological weapon. ‘Mindless fear’.... or foolish disregard? no one is arguing the seriousness of isolation to stop the spread of cv19. what i was joking about is that even if we are delayed in getting our parts, that delay may last a couple months at the worst. not really a life threatening prospect.
