Many of you that wander into the other sections of Ferrarichat will have seen some of the No Drill license plate mounts we are starting to offer for other models. It is now time to give the owners of F430, Scuderia & 16M cars a little love and forever rid them of the problem of needing to drill holes on the front in order to fit a license plate. Our mounts are CAD designed and CNC cut for precision while being hand assembled for quality. They differ from other offerings in the following ways:

    1. Quick 5 second on and off removal with no trace of the mount left behind (try doing that with velcro). Works great for a quick roadside 'fix' to appease a police officer or for parking in areas where the police give tickets for no front plates to parked cars (eg. California)

    2. Center mount. No more ugly offset mounts by fitting your plate to the tow hook.

    3. Mount doubles as an audible scraper to indicate if you are about to bottom out your nose thereby further protecting your bumper paint.

    4. Worldwide solution allows for fitment to all national and international front license plate sizes while adhering to license plate mounting laws and regulations.

Note that at time of writing the Scuderia and 16M mount is not yet on the website. This will be added next week however the pricing will be the same so if you wish to order a Scuderia or 16M Mount just order a 430 one and specify that you want it for the Scuderia/16M and we will send you the correct part.

Not meaning to put water on your bonfire but isn't that location blocking airflow to the front splitter aerodynamics (i.e. front downforce)?

No water on our fire at all and we welcome the feedback. Prior to putting the mount on sale we road and track tested it at high speed. While we would always recommend that you remove the mount before going on the track we actually did back to back track comparisons that yielded identical lap times and no discernible difference in feel. For this reason we were comfortable in concluding that the position of the plate does not affect the front splitter aerodynamics in any marked manner.

As a counterpoint, in the case of the 458 Speciale we did notice a significant difference in front end feel when we used an early prototype that mounted to the lower lip. Once we moved the plate to the more centralized position that we are currently using the car returned to feeling exactly the same with or without the front plate.

These mounts take time to get right and you can be sure of getting a top quality, well engineered, and thoroughly tested product with a Carbonio No Drill License Plate Mount

Interesting bracket. I watched the video and on/off looks easy enough; how does it mount to the car?

Very elegant solution. I like it. It's pricey, but considering what it does, it's actually not bad.

On the topic of license plates...

In Switzerland, they're starting to offer stickers as license plates on the front. I guess they're more aerodynamic and the size is a bit smaller than the license plate holder. No need to drill holes, but also may be a little tougher to remove... I saw it done on one Ferrari.

Sorry no 360 option just yet. For some reason we found 430 owners to be a little more touchy about fitting their front plate while 360 owners don't seem as bothered.

Thank you. Of course double sided tape and zip ties will always be cheaper but we were after a solution that was easy to install and remove. Great for car shows when you want to keep your privacy, for quick removal when you are washing your car, or even to keep in the trunk and act as a 5 second roadside repair on the day your luck runs out and a cop stops you for no front plate (we have received more than one thank you email from customers who dodged a ticket this way).

As for price that will always be subjective but these are not mass produced and available at any corner store. They are a vehicle specific application engineered and made JUST for the 430. Mounts are hand assembled in small batches and the total unit life of the project is very very small. You can be certain of a good degree of exclusivity if you rock one of our mounts. Of course if price is still an issue we can offer a discount if bundled with some of our other carbon fiber products :D

I still don't get it? Ferrari have designed these cars with the perfect spot for a plate, dead centre above the splitter. Curve the plate and stick it on with double sided foam tape. Looks way better than anything else and costs virtually nothing. Obviously difficult to remove, as above, if you were wanting to.

There are a good number of owners who loathe front license plates and do everything they car to minimize the time a front plate is on their car. Many of these people buy our mounts to quickly fit at the side of the road if stopped by the police or when parked to avoid a 'fix it' ticket. Others put in on only when driving as they can't see the ugly front plate when they are behind the wheel. This gives the freedom to be without a plate for washing, car shows, in the garage during periods of quiet admiration, or any other time you don't want to have the beautiful natural lines of the F430 spoiled by government mandated tags. For these people double sided tape is far too permanent a solution even if it is simple and cheap. We like to think we offer a solution that keeps the front of the car natural and unspoiled.

Fair enough. I hate back plates too. Quick fit on the side of the road? In my country I am 100% sure if I was pulled over the police would say make sure it stays on as they handed me the ticket. Also meter maids would get me every time I stopped. But if you don't want the plate on in your garage or shows it's a good option.

This was pretty easy to make and works well. I used the same process when custom audio shops have to make a speaker enclosure : Cover the area with two layers of blue painters tape and then apply strips of fiberglass saturated in poly resin. this held on with body panel tape and the tabs below the plate area are for two aluminum rivets just as a backup as the black area is easier to patch/blend. This has had no movement in 6 years so the tabs are not needed. The plate is pitched down and curved port to starboard to minimize laser return.
    FWIW.

We wish to clarify a detail as it seems to be a question given some of the inquiries we have received. The 430 mount is DIFFERENT to the one used by the Scuderia and 16M. The front spoiler on the 430 is much shorter and therefore requires a different design. For this reason we have separate listings and ordering pages for the F430 mount and for the Scuderia/16M front mount.

Also since this thread started we have released mounts for almost every Ferrari made since 1948. If you happen to be lucky enough to have other Italian horses in your stable we may just have a solution for you. Our full product offering is available at:

Both F430 and Scuderia/16M plate bracket sales are up recently and that is outside of the number of Ferrari dealers that are starting to carry the product and fit them to their customer cars. Spring is right around the corner so legalize your Ferrari in time for the Spring season (or carry it in the trunk like many to do a quick roadside fix if you get pulled over; seems to work every time)

Seems like a lot of 430's and Scuds are changing hands lately probably in anticipation of the upcoming driving season. For those of you that have the misfortune of local front license plate laws just a friendly reminder that we have your solution covered:

Even under quarantine the nice weather is coming and with that the 2020 driving season. If your Ferrari is being driving in a place where a front license plate is mandatory then we have the solution for you. All over the rise in electronic traffic control has meant that the police are more vigilant to cars not displaying front license plates. Placing a plate in the front window is not legally acceptable anywhere and does not constitute a side of the road fix. Even if you don't want to display your plate carrying one of our mounts in the trunk allows for a fast roadside fix to get out of a ticket.
