Link leads to News Release which links back to link and one short Mount video diving into the front of one historic camera after another and ending at the Mount video. Not very informative and I don't feel like researching what Nikon is up to. End of rant!

The next gen camera will be revealed on aug 26
It’s all hush hush till then.
They are releasing bits and pieces till then.
Sony owns this market, and Nikon is not happy.
For photogs... this is big news.

mirrorless means less complicated manufacturing and eventually they will sell you the 'optional' evf. Personally, I don't like the way an evf bombards my retinas and then the lack of resolution you get from optical slr set ups. I really want to like the Fuji GFX 50s, but that evf is just not what I want.

Maybe I'm just prejudiced, but all the evf's I've tried up to now were dark and laggy, like I was watching something thru a black & white movie with grease on the lens. Perhaps Nikon has made some breakthrough?

What bothers me more are the crappy small sensors. Suddenly "full frame" that is basically 35mm is king (gag) but we have aps-c and micro 4/3s all over the landscape. I just can't respect Sony for making anything less than true full frame, so I am hoping Nikon will do something about it. Sony just feels like a gimmick.

Well, glad I just spent so much on canon cameras and lenses.

Also bought a c200 and c100 with a set of prime cine lenses for video work.

    Sigh.,,

a lens mount adapter is a compromise at best..they all have us over the falls ..as all manufacturers change their mount systems.
