    I can't help you with that, but I do have a rather poor photo (taken with a 110-format camera) of Niki taking his racing bag out of the trunk of a yellow 308 GT4 (presumably belonging to Ferrari N.A.) at Watkins Glen in 1975.....

    I've never heard that Niki Lauda owned a Daytona, but I'm not an authority on the subject.

    From Niki's book, "My Years With Ferrari", 1978;

    "The list (of Niki's cars) at the end of October 1977: one 1961 Bentley (Niki: I only have it because I like old well kept cars. I hardly ever drive it....), one Jaguar XJ12 5.3 with telephone, one Alfetta GT with telephone, one Fiat 132 2-litre, one Alfasud Kombi, one Volkswagen Beetle Cabrio (Marlene's car).....The 'second car' is more like a 'seventh car', and that would be the Ferrari 308GTB which he had the use of until the end of his contract, but which Lauda scarcely ever used (a beautiful car, but too much of a strain. Formula one World Champions prefer to drive in silent automatic limounsines.)"

    "Lauda's cars must always be clean and perfect in every detail. When it comes to cars Lauda is very fussy; a broken radio in one of the six puts him in a bad mood; the thought that for today he can choose one of the other five is no help. As in winter the conditions on the roads sometimes make the use of any of the cars impossible a Range Rover became a necessity, which meant parting with the beloved Jaguar (he would never spend MONEY on a car, except for the Bentley which is more of a toy than anything else."

    "For the ordinary driver it may be interesting to know by what criteria the most competent driver in the world judges his cars.
    1) The functioning of the motor telephone.
    2) The quality of the stereo installation.
    3) Quiet running.
    4) Seat comfort.
    5) Design of the body.
    That details like engine performance, road-holding, and brakes come up to the standard are taken as a matter of course."

    "....He drives much more sensibly than two or three years ago (in those days he looked upon driving as part of his training, expecially in Italy where he called the oncoming traffic 'the third Monza chicane')."

    Thank you Jim for your time and effort.

    Jeff this car was given to Lauda by Enzo Ferrari when he signed in 73. Lauda
    sold it in the summer/fall of 74 to a doctor here in Canada.
