night exposure time lapse CMOS overheating?

    I think I overheated the sensor last night. The sky only got darker.

    Condensation on the lens? When sensors get hot, they get noisy.

    More likely, I suppose.

    I did also 25 minute bulb for a star trail, and turned out to be too much light in the sky anyway, so this inverted etc. star trail image resulted. Not what I hoped, but oh well.

    I believe it has an overheating warning, right? I've never used mine for an exposure of that duration.

    Forums have plenty of people who have bulbed for an hour +. I think it was a light issue + lens condensation now. I'll try somewhere that is truly dark sometime soon.

    I have tried 1½ hour bulb on my 7D without any problems, except that the pic sucked and I wasn't happy with the result.
