I have the first edition ... great book. But why get the second edition if he has sold the BRM v16. That car makes sounds that are simply indecently good ... and I have been known to play the CD in my cars system, er, very loud :D

While I can understand why he sold it ... I'd love to own one and make it work (ie. run for longer than 3 laps). I'd even carefully modify it with modern ignition systems, etc. ensuring that all could be put back original if and when required.

Have recently had the chance to read this book-WOW ! It's an absolute must for any petrol head. Hats off to super cool Nick Mason for his generosity in allowing his exquisite car collection to be used as God intended.

He is a character in the best sense of the word, besides a great drummer. Saw something a while back on cable - mag rack/classic cars - showed him and some of his beauties. Most impressive statement was how he gets satifaction from driving, regardless of how much they are worth. Also said he was considered a eccentric, then an brilliant investor and now an eccentric again relating to the market fluctuations on classic cars. I believe the original interview this was taken from and put into this show was from a few years back. Did show his 275 GTB(background), 250GTO, Maserati "Birdcage" and a D-Type.
