Anyone have specific recommendations on where to go for a nice morning drive with the wife and a place to stop for breakfast and/or lunch. We want to head out towards the Middleburg, VA area. Neither of us have been there before and want to check it out.

    Thanks.

Yes, I might recommend taking Rt 55 from gainesville out to the town of the Plains, then turn right on Rt 626, take this straight into Middleburg. Rt 626 is a wonderful country road for driving and seeing some nice houses and the hills, plus it has some great twists! the wife and I make this run from time to time. There are also some really great winery's in the area. There is one we stop at off Rt 626 all the time and the name is escaping me now!!! ARGH! The have a couple of ponds and nice areas to sit and eat and wine taste. Not 100% my thing, but its a give and take world! You can get some good speed going or take a nice cruise.
In Middleburg, Mosby Tavern is a good place for just about anytime of the day to grab a bite to eat. There are a bunch of antique and small shops in Middleburg, so leave the check book at home! Enjoy! Everything in Middleburg is right off of RT 50.
You could take Rt50 west to Rt 17south and take I66 east back when done. Pretty generic, but good roads for driving.

    Have fun!

The salamander gourmet (on the right heading through town just past the biker bar) has its own parking lot out back and really fantastic lunches. Grab a table outside and enjoy!
