He's showing how many awards/accomplishments Brady (B) has in those short spans of his career (first third, middle third, last third) compared to Aikman (A), Marino (M), and Montana (M) for their ENTIRE careers.

So first part in that post it says 2000-2006 meaning it's adding up Brady's stats only during that time and comparing it to all of Aikman's career. B(rady) 3 super bowl and A(ikman) 3 super bowls. 2 MVP to 1, etc, for Marino and Montana later.

It shows that just in last 6 years (2014-2020) Brady has basically done what Montana has for SBs, SB MVPs, reg season MVPs...

To my mind, Brady and Montana are the only 2 contenders for GOAT. If you open it up to all positions, then you need to add Jerry Rice IMO. Maybe LT on defense. Marino had great stats, but did not go to the SB enough. Am not sure why people discount Bradshaw, maybe it's all the annoying commericals. Jim Brown @ RB was another name I saw thrown around, but he may be from an era too far removed to really compare apples to apples...T

Back to the SB, I hear there is some muttering under the breath of the established TB receivers. I didn't realize it during the game other than Evans was MIA, but Tom mainly passed to his guys, Gronk, Brown and Fournette. Those guys were targeted 17 times for 15 catches, and of course had all the TD's. The existing TB receiving corps of Evans, Godwin, Brate and Miller were targeted only 8 times.

It will be interesting to see what other receivers Tom recruits for next year. I'm sure Julian Edelman would go in a heart beat.

Interesting you say this, Paul, because I was wondering a similar thing. I recall Evans, Brate, et al. being quite popular targets during the run up to the SB, but in the SB, TB12 really leaned on "his guys." On the one hand, it's not a bad idea, since I would imagine KC likely schemed more in their practices for Brate, Evans, Godwin, etc. On the other, people get grumpy when they don't get the touches!

Godwin had a lot of targets this post-season and regularly dropped the ball (literally and figuratively). He did not step up and I'm glad he did not get targets in the SB like the rest. Mike Evans was covered pretty well as he should be given his talent...hard to get open when you're being covered by the best team in the AFC...not some crap NFC south competition.

He's supported by almost all of us. Fans are happy for him. He's still going to retire as a Patriot.

Belichick is taking some heat for not keeping him and such a poor performance this year. He's now under some pressure from the fans to bring the team back to respectability. The $64 question is who is going to QB the team. Cam tried, he really put in the effort, but his shoulder is shot and he just can't pass. Evidently Stidham is not the QB Bill once thought he was.

The only good thing is at 15 this is the highest earned draft pick the Pats have ever had in over 20 years!

    Agreed! :D

When Washington Nats won the WS, I told my buddy to let his son skip school and go to the parade. 50 days from now, you will have no idea what you learned in school that day. But, 50 years from now, you'll never forget that parade!

To answer your question about Bradshaw, the majority of people give the defense (Steel Curtain) the credit for those SBs, plus more of a running era....which in my opinion is nonsense, because this year's SB was all defense for Tampa yet Brady wins MVP. The defense is what won Tampa the SuperBowl, not Brady.

Wow... the Super Bowl streaker put a $50K bet that someone would interfere during the game -- and then ran on himself!

Offshore sportsbook refunds bets on Super Bowl streaker

    https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/betting/offshore-sportsbook-refunds-bets-on-super-bowl-streaker-2277914/

The offshore sportsbook Bovada announced that it was refunding bets on a Super Bowl prop about a fan running onto the field after reports that the man orchestrated the event to win the wager.

A man, identified by multiple media outlets as Yuri Andrade, 31, of Boca Raton, Florida, ran across the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s Super Bowl LV in Tampa, Florida. Afterward, he claimed to have made a $50,000 wager at +750 odds (to win $375,000) on a prop on whether a fan would run onto the field during the game.

Bovada had such a prop listed at +750, and it announced Wednesday that it would refund bettors who wagered “no” on the event after finding “betting irregularities.”

A Bovada spokesman gave the following statement:

“Bovada identified some betting irregularities on our Super Bowl prop ‘will a fan run onto the field during the game?’

“Our players have always trusted us to ensure the integrity of all props offered in our sportsbook. We will continue to make sure that any publicity stunts or ill-intended behavior cannot adversely affect the outcome of a player’s wager.

“All of our players are on a level playing field, so if you bet ‘NO’ on this market we’re going to refund your bet. Additionally, we’re honoring all those ‘YES’ wagers we’ve determined to have had no part in the betting irregularities. We’ll be reaching out to all those players impacted by this event shortly.”
