    Got a confirmation e-mail from my local Porsche dealer yesterday.

    The next generation Boxster & Cayman are all electric. 2025 is the end of the road as we know it for Porsche.

    He said they will have some ICE version of the iconic 911. But those already start @ $120K

    R.I.P. Porsche :(

    I knew they’d lost the plot when they named an ev “turbo.” Not only is it silly it is completely disrespectful of the company’s heritage. I’ve owned Porsches since 1968 although I’ve never bought a new one. That perfect record is now guaranteed.

    The Boxster Cayman series is the last remaining avatar of the idea of a Porsche sportscar, as opposed to GT. Now they’ve destroyed that.

    I don't actually believe they are going to stick to that.

    I guarantee you there will be versions of the Cayman and Boxster with ICE and a manual transmission. At the very least they will need one to homologate the GT4 race cars.

    I think you’re right about ICE. Too much investment to discard in the face of an uncertain market for EV sports cars.
