Dear neighbors, This summer I would like to visit L'Anse aux Meadows, and to camp and hike for a few days in Gros Morne national park. I'm coming from New York City. I suppose the most sensible way would be to fly to Newfoundland and rent a car? Should I make a stop or two on the way? Nova Scotia or ? Thanks!
The biggest problem with Maritime travel is the ferries IMO. So yes, definitely fly in and rent. You can likely drive up from NY to Nova Scotia (Cabot Trail and most of Cape Breton are very nice to drive, but do it counter-clockwise). Take a plane from Nova Scotia up to Newfoundland, and then the same in reverse.
