Dropping Pianos on Morris Marinas and alike is only a good thing. Include Austin Allegros and Maxis in that. They were awful cars and deserve destroying.

Just watched 1st episode and enjoyed it. How does ch drift fxxk?! Any other show would barely do a parade lap at 10 mph yet hes going all out with tire walls and guard rails few feet away. Amazing! And I even laughed a little at the Kazakhstan stuff. Really looking forward to more. They do need to get stig on more though

Another excellent episode today! Next week Chris will test the Bugatti Chiron and Matt the Ducati 1299 Superleggera.

I've been curious as to how the new carbon fiber Ducati chassis will be considering Ducati only ran it for a few seasons in MotoGP before dumping it and going back to metal.

I still laugh almost out of breath every time I watch that episode :)

This week's was excellent. It seems to be getting a little less wooden between the three presenters too.

Finally caught a replay of the new TG, last night (second episode).
(After the fiasco last year, I removed TG from the DVR programming.)

It's better than the disaster. But that's not saying much.

On the longer view, I notice that the cars in the studio are not the ones they test -- or in the same country.

In short, it appears the Beeb has replaced Top Gear with American Top Gear.

Even to the "silly driving in snow" part.

As to "not destroying cars", they abused the Giulia a bit.
After comparing it to the aged M3 that the Giulia has already spanked in several tests.

And the constant electric hybrid debate got old just in one episode.

Lacking presenter chemistry, enjoyable humor, or worthwhile information.
    aka American Top Gear.

I really liked episodes 1 & 2 of this season.

Episode 3 was enjoyable but a little on the bland side for me. I'm not a huge Aston Martin fan so that segment seemed very generic, and I didn't know of the celebrity guest, who seemed very lackluster about cars. It was solid but not a standout episode.

Still a vast improvement on last year. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

yes way better than last yr. they were probably so shell shocked by the jc drama that they couldnt put out a coherent show. however, i feel gt gives a little more info about the actual cars. tg gives almost nothing new that a gear head doesnt already know. gt gives at least a little driving impressions.

What's the point of the black dude other than making Top Gear PC? He knows nothing about cars and he's not funny either

He really doesn't add much. Really only need CH and ML.

Today's episode was pretty good. If I don't recognize the guest, I always fast-forward through that, but the rest was entertaining.

Next week's show will feature the Ford GT. Can't wait!

Guests, Sabine and the black dude I really don't get but otherwise it's improving. Leblanc Especially.

They should get Edd China in there now he's left WD. He could be the next James May! :D

Yes, replace the Black dude with Edd and put in a whole segment about fixing up cars with him and Leblanc (who seems very interested in mechanical things).

    OR

GT should pick up Edd and have him and James May do a segment on fixing cars and bikes. That would be mesmerizing.

The Ford GT segment on today's Top Gear was fairly entertaining. I like how the car goes down quickly in race mode/stance.

Does anyone know anything about the sports cars on the elevated platforms around the set? The Countach, Testarossa, Lotus, and Porsche. The Countach's proportions looked a bit off so I'm guessing maybe it's a replica, but the others looked real.

Why am I getting tg a week behind? Just watched chiron episode tonight. Ford gt next week

Was good despite how contrived the 'race' between ch and ml was. Those stunts were played out by the previous cast. Would much rather have see more of the ducati. Put that on stigs track, etc

They need to drop the celebrity bit and come up with something else. It slows the entire show down.

Been there, done that. Besides, I'm not impressed with pop and movie stars.

Agreed. They also tend to pick pretty obscure celebrities who have very little worldwide appeal. I didn't mind whatsherface in Episode 3 because I had watched the TV show she was in with LeBlanc. Otherwise though, it's usually FFWD.

Quite enjoy it but Rory is annoying still. Don't like any segments with Sabine either.

People moan about EJ but I quite like him, lol.
