Time for new tires. These are 6 years old and the rears have wear on the outside edges.

I was advised to have a an alignment done and that seems prudent.

4 hours @ $100 seem about right for that?

Is that $100 total or $400?

I paid less than $100 for a four wheel alignment on my 355 from the guy that my local F dealer sends all their cars to. So I would say $100 is fair. Oh, and the work took less than 2 hours.

No 4x100 or $400 plus 230 to mount, balance, dispose, etc.

That sounds like dealership pricing. Mount and Balance should be $120-150. Alignment shouldn't be more than $150. That is assuming you take it to independent shops that specialize in each.

That was an Fcar facility, yes.

Is there anything unique about aligning these cars that a quality, tire, alignment shop cant handle?

I went to the local high end, indi shop around here that I would probably use in a pinch for other things if I had to and I was surprised when he told me he couldn't do it because he didn't have the specs for it? Maybe he just didn't want to?

I'm calling some other alignment shops.

You defiantly want someone with Ferrari experience or at least race car experience.
at $400 plus $250 for mounting and balance you are getting F raped.

The tire mount and balance is the easy part. Take it to Les Schwab, Discount Tire, ect and they will do it. Then take it to that show for the alignment.

You might get someone to do a courtesy " alignment check ", someone who can throw it on the rack and give you a printout without going in for the whole "alignment" cost.
Then you can determine if it needs an actual megabuck alignment.

My guy mounts and high speed balances all my new tires while disposing of my old ones for $20 each... or $80 for all 4 corners.
An allignment should run you about $150 to account for the 2 hours or so it will take....

What are you putting on for tires and where are you buying them? Tirerack.com usually has great prices and will ship to your local tire shop for mounting at a pre-set price - Usually around $25 -$30 per tire for balancing and mounting.

I don't know about your local shops but in my neighborhood, a lot of the tire shops have experience in doing alignments on F Cars.

Wear on the outside rear ? This car comes set up from factory with negative camber. The insides should go first. What pressure was run In rear tires? Any bent suspension ?

The shim adjustments are easy and fast they don't take hours people with challenge cars do this before and after tracking .

Tire mounting should be $30 each max with a hunter road force balence.

No need to pay Ferrari tax on this stuff. If the car doesn't pull I wouldn't even touch the alignment.

Perhaps your rear toe is out but the engine is in back and that alone should weight the suspension pressure on the inside rear. Not outside.

Seems a little high. I had to have an alignment on my SL55, which can only be done at a Mercedes dealership. It couldn't be done at an independent shop. It only cost me around $160, which I was very relieved. It was still probably more than if I could have taken it to an independent, but much cheaper than my initial thoughts when I heard the word dealership.

Two fcar factory authorized shops/dealers came in at 400. A high end performance shop said 200. I more boutique type tire/alignment place said 150 an hour after calling me back on checking specs and any unique requirements.

The high performance shop wants 50/wheel you're install. Etc.

Little more homework and snow, salt to clear.
