I think the forum has outgrown itself a little, don't want some other important areas to get diluted by F1. How about the following sub-forums...

    F1
GT Racing (maybe title Sports Car Racing or Le Mans Racing?)
    Challenge Cars
    Tracking

IMHO, I think just splitting F1 traffic off would be sufficient. It's easily 80% of the threads.

I agree with Tillman. Just an F1 section is needed. If there is anyway to have an F1 section where the headers/titles are not visible unless you enter the section would be the best option possible. Then we could not have spoiler issues.

    I agree.

Or - "F1" and "Other Racing & Tracking" (including everything from the IRL to NASA to local dealer track days)

The Challenge cars are used mostly at track days, at least in the US. If you were to create a separate forum for the Challenge cars - not a bad idea - it might be better placed with the model specific groups, maybe after supercars (event hough there are various models of Challenge cars). Or, have a "Ferrari Racing Cars" section.

I have thought about this before for F1, but there is some momentum now getting more Challenge cars out to race with NASA. It was requested to have a separate section for just Challenge cars. Tough to decide between placing with Model specific or under Racing. Both apply.

A Ferrari Racing Cars section under the model-specific area isn't a bad idea...it could encompass track days, Challenge cars, vintage racing (at least Fcar vintage racing), the FXX World Tour thread, etc.

With an F1 subforum, is there any way we could get rid of those nasty " --->>>SPOILER<<<--- Race X --->>>SPOILER<<<---" thread titles? The argument that the spoiling title could be seen on the main page then would be pointless, wouldn't it?

I don't post here a lot, but I have railed about the silly spoiler issue before. I think an F1 subforum with meaningful thread titles would be really nice.

Unfortunately, even with subforums the latest titles show on the front page.

I agree that an F1 forum would be welcome, but the problem with creating too many subforums is that they would likely be pretty sparse and may not get used enough.

Lets ask the tough question.... "What would Enzo want?" Since his sole ambition was to race cars with road going models just a financing tool... I think a Racing Ferrari's or Ferrari Challenge section is obvious. I would like to see it under the model specific area I think. After all Rob you are part of the small group of Elite Ferrari racers...you know you are better than just about everyone else and deserve you own section!(Joking). I would love to share a section with 348s, 355s and 430 Challenges as well as the old original race cars....that is what Ferrari is all about after all....

    Kind Regards,
    Christopher

P.S. Yes I have been chatting with John!

Formula 1 Racing subforum sounds like a good idea. Too bad you can't hide the thread titles in it.

I'm all in favor of an F1 thread. It would be my one-stop shop for all F1 news.

I'm also in favor of allowing spoilers in the titles, just as long as they are not viewable on the main page. I'm sure something can be set up similar to how non-subscribed members cannot see the latest post in the subscribed forums.

I'd put tracking and challenge cars together until there were enough posts in both to separate

Ditto II. Frankly, while I love watching all forms of motor racing live, watching it on TV or reading about it on F-Chat doesn't do much for me.
