This is my first ferrari . I got a black interior with yellow stitching and yellow belts. I am picking up the car later this week. I realized now that the yellow belts do not look good and are a bit tacky in my opinion. Specifically the problem is that the belts are not even Ferrari yellow they are like this orangey gold color. Not sure how this is possible that the colored belt is not the same color as the stitching. I would think Ferrari would have them the same exact color. Not sure what to do here. Should the dealer be on the hook and replace them for black because they are not the same ferrari yellow? I think they would look ok if they matched the stitching and the yellow on the headrest. Thoughts?

I was initially interested in colored seat belts but after seeing them in the flesh I decided against them.

It was looking at the red belts and as you stated the colour did not match the red stitching I had selected and I felt the buckle looked cheap.

I would have thought you can get them changed to black. Who would pay could be a problem. I would go to the dealer explaining the problem and ask for a free replacement. In the end if the dealer makes a contribution you would have done well, unless you are a regular customer.

    Good luck.

Yeah, I would think it would depend on how great of a customer you are, and how generous they are feeling. Ferrari seems to have an issue with yellow - in that the shields, center cap, and giallo modena - and likely now the seat belts - all seems to be slightly different shades of yellow. Good luck resolving this, and congratulations on your new Ferrari. It looks tremendous...T

They tried to talk me into blue seat belts on my Portofino (it is TDF Blue) but I didn't go for it. Good luck with the dealer.

You spec'd a brand new Ferrari and the colors don't match. This is easy, be polite, explain it's not up to your expectations and it's ruining your experience of buying your first Ferrari. Then tell them the car is not as ordered as it doesn't match. They either fix the car and swap with black belts or give you back your deposit and loose all future business. A lot of guys here will kiss the dealers **s to get allocations, etc but just bring yourself down to Earth and remember it's a car, a very expensive one, and just like any other custom ordered car you'd order from any other brand, it must be right or you walk.

Case in point. We ordered my wife a 2018 E300 MB. Fully loaded to the tilt, auto pilot, upgraded EVERYTHING. I think we had 26K of options in a damn E class. The car came in 3 months later...one of the options she wanted was not installed. We ordered the car again and they were stuck selling that one. Don't budge and get what you want. It's Ferrari's fault they are color blind.

Seat belts should be easy. One would think anyways. They can order new ones and swap if they don't have them in stock. I doubt it's some special seat belt design only for the Porto., but who knows. So black belts shouldn't be that difficult for them to find and install.

Let me help clarify the yellow color situation a bit for other potential owners: If this Portofino was yellow, not white, the situation would be different. As the owner of a yellow Portofino I can say the belt color shown is pretty close to my exterior yellow, Giallo Modena. What is “off” is the yellow thread Ferrari uses for the stitching and the horse on the headrests. The thread is a less intense yellow and has a bit of a greenish hue when compared to the oranger exterior and belt color. So if this new car was yellow the belt color would not be an issue.
