Another new F1 kit, The Red Bull "Star Wars" car from Monaco in 1/24th . It is a conversion for the 1/24 Revell F2005 F1 kit. The trans Kit will be produced by Scale Coachworks. As you can see, Kevin from Strada Sports
will carry them when they are available. Interesting effort.

The Star Wars RED BULL was raced at Monaco only. This 1/24 F1 project was
pulled along by Ed Sexton and Dan Jansen of Scale Coachworks. Cool colors.

Here are some of the new Hiro kits built. The Alfa T33/3 1970 chassis is very fine!. I have the kit and can say they really did a great job on the chassis. My only complaint is with the nose, wich you cant tell from the pictures as it is split with the white car marker colors. Chiti and Autodelta did the chassis and Ital Design did the Lemans Aero package.
Second car is the Hiro Cobra 289 FIA . These kits are not for beginners , but
are well designed. They are not overpriced as they are very limited production. I hope they do the 330LMB and 250TDF they already announced
soon!! These models are all 1/24th scale. If you dont already build 1/24th scale you might want to think about it now!

Mr. Tanner, perhaps you can help with this one. I saw this built up at my local Ferrari dealer (The Auto Gallery) and can't place the year or do I have any recollection of its shape. From the top it looks like a variation on a SWB, but the front and rear are very unusual. Having no luck searching on Barchetta or here on FerrariChat. This is one of two listing I found on Google (the other was blue) http://www.warmup.it/shop/product.php?productid=5324 Thanks, Ken

    rebodied 400i.
Made for sir. Anthony Bamford, one off, builder is unknown to me.

Looksmart are nice models made by MR www.looksmartmodels.com
    www.mrcollection.com

In the looksmart series they reissued a lot of the older MR cars for a much cheaper price because they are made in China at a lower cost.
I have MR and Looksmarts, the quality is equal, longtime collectors with the MR versions are not to happy with the Looksmarts, newer collectors are extremely happy to get these cars at a considerably lower price.

The word is the Looksmarts are made in China, I have seen pics of the factory of MR grom 2007, and they were building Looksmarts in Italy.

the car has been discussed here before:
    quote:

Story is in Classic & Sportscar April 95. The car is based a shortened 400i s/n 37647 and was conceived as a '65 GTO'. Probably designed by Chris Hampson (the then owner) and Chris Major, with the chassis frame work by Brian Wingfield (DRL Engineering) and the body by GP Metalcraft.

Thanks to all for your detailed responses. Now the number makes some sense and its no wonder I didn't remember or find historical reference. I probably have the C&SC somewhere here although after 13 years it not surprising I forgot the article. Cheers.

What is the difference between the first and second halves of the order sheet, one costs 21,000 yen, and the other 2,100 yen???

They are selling the decals without the kit if you wish to buy them to use on a plastic kit. It would take alot of work to modify a street 430 kit, but they
    give you that option.

I have seen them and they are nice. To be honest Looksmart is better quality
than BBR in exterior paint finish. BBR has always put to much paint on their models.

    Looksmart = MR
They claim their price is lower because they are built in China, but I've seen pics of the Italian MR factory where they were building Looksmarts..

I have 95 BBR's, 30 Heco's 20 MR's and some Looksmarts, but the 5 Make Ups I have are better built and painted!

I agree with you on that. They are very nice models although they don't make that many cars. What I was trying to point out is that BBR are not the best models on the market. Even the cheaper Looksmart models are better quality.
I have close to 100 built up 1/43rd models, and when I compare the BBR's
to Looksmart/MR/MakeUp ect., they dont look as good. It mainly the exterior paint finishes.

    Exactly my opinion.
Another thing is the limited edition policy by BBR. Several hundred FXX's were made in small series of 10/20 in different liveries or colors using the exact same mold.
Every dealer can order a limited edition nowadays...

No such animal. Formula Canada and Perry's Resin both used to make
1/24th scale 333SP kits for around $100.00. BBR also made several 1/24th
scale 333SP kits. They are all well over $100.00 now. Try Ebay as they are
    all out of production.

Model Work Shop used to sell the 1/12th scale F50GT trans kits on Ebay.
I hope they sell the Breadvan as a kit also.
