I really thought i heard 150k but you're probably right it will be in the 200-250 range. Doesn't matter anyway since if theres no manual i have no interest.
Are there any supercars or high performance cars that can be ordered in manual anymore? Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Koenigsegg, McLaren, and high-end Pcars can't come with manuals unless I'm wrong somewhere in that. The lower cost performance cars like the GTR are paddle-only. I guess the Z06 and Viper only?
Car and Driver website states: "So far as we can tell at this point, there is no hybrid componentry, no complicated electric-boost function, and no kinetic-energy recovery system, just pure, unadulterated horsepower from a beastly gas engine feeding the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission." There is nothing pure or unadulterated about twin turbocharging. Cheap HP from a six cylinder. Try it with NA to be pure.
Like it or not the NA engine is a dying breed killed of by environmental and government legislation - everything is 'more from less' and it is the market that has killed the manual trans - the vast majority don't want them. John
This. That's from the horse's mouth. Mr. Neil has no reason to misquote Ford. Granted "$150,000" might be $159,800 + $3,000 destination fee + gas guzzler tax, but it's still a real number similar to the last car. Sure dealers will mark-up, and there will be paint and stripe options for big $$, but it's a Ford. For north of $200k the buyer will go the traditional exotic routes.
But if they made it in manual do you think they still wouldnt be able to sell every car they made? Why not be different!
I searched for the online article and WSJ posted a correction: Ford GT: The Kardashian Effect. Champagne Anyone? - WSJ Interesting. I can't imagine that Dan Neil would make up that a Ford rep told him $150,000. Sounds like Ford asked them to take it down.

If they only make 500 or so will get the 3000kplus dealer surchage Hope its 200K and regular production.
Yeah above a maxed out Z06 makes sense, but when you get to Ferrari territory most buyers will probably choose Ferrari vs Ford.
This isn't A Ford this is THE Ford Span of The World Champion GT40 that kicked Ferraris Ass 4 yrs in a row I'd take THE Ford over most Ferraris
