Hi gang, I just replaced my inner cv boot and flange on 1982 308. I didn't notice unti I greased it and went to install it, that the new flange has extruded dimples that will not allow the half-moon washers to be used. The original flange got bent a bit when I removed, but I guess I could reuse it. Although I'd have to clean and rebuild it again. Does anyone know if these dimpled ones simply do not require the washers? Do I just use regular flat or lock washers? Or do I try and straighten and rebuild with original flange? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!

That flange design just requires washers IMO. The "forming" provides the same extra support that the arced pieces provide, but it will be a rather special washer -- about same thickness as the arced piece (which is rather thick for a 10mm diameter washer) and a rather small OD for a 10mm diameter washer. I think a flat washer would be fine, but this style of lockwasher would be OK, too (and it has the necessary extra thickness and small OD):

They're tq distribution plates. Even Porsche used them, but they are shaped to fit. This is what you'd be looking for. Porsche bolts the reverse of Ferrari, the output flange on the Porsche is threaded so the bolt passes thru the other way. Ferrari uses captive nuts, so make sure the nuts will be held captive by the Porsche style flange.

Maybe I'll just grind out the OEM ones that I already have to fit. Thanks for the help all!
